Anna's P.O.V.
Time: 2 Months since Libby disappeared. 9 A.M.
"If I weren't so tired I would slap you." I complained as Slightly squirted water from his water bottle at me.
"It was your idea to come out this early!" He complained right back.
"Yeah but I wanted to climb! I don't like surprises!" I told him. He knew this already though. He still insisted that we go to his place first. Wherever that is.
"I swear, we're almost there." He promised with a smile. He turned away for a few seconds and I grabbed his water bottle and squirted him in the face. He tried to get away but I held him by the shirt.
"Not so tough anymore, are you!?" I laughed as he regained control of his water bottle.
"I think that's enough." He chuckled then quickly kissed my cheek. I couldn't help the smile that spread across my face. I'm really not one for those 'cutesy' relationship things but Slightly has broken so many of my rules and is himself an exception. While he is a complete goof, he knows when to be serious. He also knows when he's taking things too far and when to stop. He's also been completely loyal to me. I keep telling myself it won't work out but somewhere deep down I think it might just be crazy enough to work. Who would have thought?
"We're here." He smiled as we approached a small cottage. We had been walking in a miniscule town for two minutes before we came up to it. I saw the curtains fly open quickly and a small, round face appeared. The little boy in the window smiled a smile that took up most of his slightly chubby face.
"Slightly!" He yelled but it came out more like "Slily!"
"Nelson!" He yelled back and held his arms out as the boy's mother opened the door.
"SLILY WHERE DID YOU GO?" Nelson yelled/asked as he hugged Slightly and Slightly picked him up and spun him.
"I was on earth for a while! When I got back I had to make sure Peter and the Lost Boys were all settled." Slightly explained as he propped Nelson on his back like a piggy back ride. "I have a new friend for you to meet." Slightly said changing the subject. Nelson looked over at me as if noticing me for the first time. Nelson whispered something into Slightly's ear and Slightly chuckled. "Don't get any ideas."
"He says you're pretty." Slightly told me.
"Why thank you!" I said to Nelson but he was acting shy.
"I want you to meet Anna. Can you say Anna?" Slightly asked him.
"Uhhhhhhh...Anna!" Nelson shouted.
"My favorite nephew isn't even going to say hi to me?" The lady at the door asked.
"Aunt Rita!" Slightly smiled. "Hi there."
"Looks like the studmuffin went out and found himself a beautiful cupcake." She smiled at me.
"Aunt Rita, this is Anna. Anna, this is Aunt Rita. And then this is Nelson." Slightly made introductions.
"Nice to meet you Anna." Aunt Rita said, shaking my hand.
"It's nice to meet you too." I smiled.
"Slightly has been writing us all about you!" She smiled. Slightly definitely blushed.
"Only good things I hope." I joked.
"Play with ball Anna?" Nelson asked and pointed to a big bouncy ball and smiled.
Nelson got off of Slightly and started to play pass with me. Aunt Rita and Slightly caught up while I played with Nelson. Then later on Slightly and I both played with him. Around lunch Aunt Rita came out and brought us food. We ate with the family, including Uncle Daniel then said our thanks and our goodbyes then went on our way to climbing.
It took a good hour for us to get to my special spot. We began climbing with a comfortable silence. I led the way for Slightly, grabbing the easiest holds that I could find so he could keep up. We climbed higher and higher but we still weren't to our destination.
"How much longer?" He asked.
"About ten minutes. Unless you want to go faster, then it'll be about five to seven." I answered him.
"Let's go fast." He said and I could hear the smile in his voice.
"That's what he said." I joked then pushed up my speed. He kept up behind me.
After a few minutes, we were to the top of the rocky hill we were climbing. I helped him over the ledge then he straightened up and took a survey of the place I brought him. He took in the lush trees and beautiful flowers and plants that grew up around this gorgeous meadow. The sun hit the meadow just right so that it seemed glowing.
"This reminds me of you." He remarked quietly.
"How so?" I asked.
"It's stunning. I can't seem to look away." He said. It didn't even come out as cheesy (which I absolutely despise by the way). He was being honest and just speaking his mind.
"Hey Slightly?" I said quietly. He mumbled a 'Yeah?' and then I kissed him. He ran his hands through my hair and pulled me closer.
"You'll be the death of me." He smiled through our kissing. I laughed.
"C'mon. It's time to eat." I told him then went back to where I dropped off my pack. I pulled out what we had scrounged together for food. I pulled out the cold pack thing (that Marmaduke had snagged on his last earth visit) and removed the fruit juice and vodka. I pulled out the glasses and mixed the drinks while Slightly set up a blanket and took over getting the food out. I took a taste and was happy with my handy work. I brought him over his glass and he motioned for me to sit down.
"Ladies first." He said as he nodded towards the food. I grabbed a turkey and cheese sandwich and then he followed. We ate until we were full. We talked about everything. We've been together so much but yet we never run out of things to talk about. We talked until the sun was setting and the stars started to appear. Slightly set up our mini tent then opened the roof on it so we could look out at the stars. We lay down next to each other and I had my head on his chest. He wrapped his arms around me which was good because it was starting to get cold.
"Today has been perfect." I smiled. He looked at me and just smiled and shook his head. "What?" I asked.
"I'm just so fucking in love with you." He admitted.
"I know." I said. "If you weren't then I wouldn't be with you."
"Are you in love with me?" He asked like a child.
"I love you." I told him.
"But are you IN love with me? There's a difference." He said.
"I am in love with you." I whispered and as if on cue, a shooting star shot across the sky.
"Make a wish." He said quietly. I silently made a wish that I could be this content forever and have many more moments like this one. I shivered as a breeze blew into our tent.
"Should I close the roof?" He asked.
"I want to see the stars...but it's so cold." I sighed.
"I know how to warm you up." He smiled mischievously.
"Okay." I smiled right back...let's just say it was a great way to end the perfect day.
