"Sally, it's been 3 days. When are you giving me the results?"

Eyzah stood with her hands crossed at the middle of the forensic lab, impatiently tapping her feet. Sally Donovan, the curly haired beauty before her was the lab expert and her best friend, but was currently delaying the results of the DNA samples.

"Woah there, girl. Don't be so impatient. It's literally murder season, it's so busy around here. You'll have plenty of time to arrest that 17 y/o,"

"That's the fact. I don't. The news is all over national media. The Sargeant is getting impatient- it's been 5 days and we haven't made the obvious arrest. The people are furious for letting Errum on the loose,"

"They're not wrong though. I mean.. she was literally standing there. Isn't that enough to arrest her?"

"Of course not! For all we know, this could've been an accident. But well, I've got the autopsy report that says otherwise. I just need the DNA reports to prove Errum was the one who pushed her. That'll be enough for the arrest."

"Okay...I'll try to speed that up. Don't worry. But hey, have you thought of a psychotic evaluation of that girl? Could she be a little..cracked on the head?"

"I wish I could, but there's not enough to go by that. Yes she was a loner, and kind of odd, but not enough to be deemed as crazy or psychotic. Maybe if she is found guilty, her defense attorney could appeal for an evaluation."

"Uhuh. Okay now work aside, how're things with Styles?"

"Why is everyone interested in my love life?" Eyzah rolled her eyes.

"Maybe because you've bagged the hottest guy in the department?" Sally winked.

"Yeah whatever. I still don't understand how it's spreading though. I mean just yesterday that guy j-"

Eyzah's phone pinged.

"Oh- it's Terrence. I think he has news. I'll see you later, Sally."

Eyzah walked out of the lab and opened the message.

It read:

"Detective Malik. You wanted the history of Mrs. Hassan. Here it is.

Born and brought up with 3 brothers, Saara grew up in a small town of Agrabah, Kazakhstan. Her neighbors described her as beautiful and smart. She was enthusiastic and interested in her studies, untill her family moved to London after the untimely death of her father when she was 16. Not being able to take the emotional and financial devastation her family experienced, she ran from home and joined a drug dealing group where she met Amir Hassan. By then she had picked up her habit of taking drugs and fell in love with Amir whom she married months later. There has been accounts of Amir abusing her on several occasions. They had their two children, Alayna and Errum, both of whom Amir wanted to abort. Not being able to take the responsibilities of the children, their father, Amir Hassan abandoned his family. Her drug and alcohol addiction worsened more than ever. Saara brought both of her children up as a single mother, struggling with financial issues. She gave up drugs a few years back and was a part of a local support group after being diagnosed with liver fibrosis and arrhythmia. She barely had any friends or relatives, but was seen frequently with a man who allegedly was her lover according to her neighbors.

That's pretty much all I got right now. I'll text you if I find something else."

Eyzah frowned as she put down her phone.

Saara no doubt had a traumatic past. And this changes a number of things. She had work to do now.

She dialled Harris's number.
