Saara Hassan looked outside the window, watching intently at the road opposite. Phills had just got out of the house, in the nick of time, when Alayna had seen Errum walking towards the house. They were too self absorbed and lost track of time. Thankfully, Alayna distracted Errum and he could leave without Errum sighting him. Fuck the landlord for locking their back door.

There was no way she was gonna let Errum know about Phills. What was she gonna think of her mother if she saw her shagging her geography teacher? And not to mention the childhood crush she had on Adam. This news would break her. She looked so upset nowadays anyway. Not that it was a rare incident, still. Finally Saara felt like she was getting closer to her child, she wasn't gonna let this ruin it.

Errum was always the child she chose over everything else, a fact well known by everyone in her life. Maybe it had something to do with the fact that she was so clever, but could say so little, or the fact that she had suffered so much for some sickos in her life. But this was going to come to an end. She was going to start a new journey, a life afresh. With Phills by her side, who had been looking forward to making it official since so long. With Errum finally living a fulfilled life with her mum, stepfather and Adam. Won't she be glad her mother gave her a new life? Will she be able to forgive her mother for hooking up with her crush's father, in exchange of a beautiful new life?

Saara hoped with all her might that she will. All these years had passed, with her addiction, sickness and everything else. Errum had suffered constantly. Every moment of her life was of pain and solitude. Just because she didn't get the affection Saara should've given to her. Drugs stood in the way of motherhood. But it definitely will not win.

Phills had proposed to her just the day before. He, for some reason, also looked pale and sad for some days. But apparently, whatever the issue was, was now solved, and he wanted to make their relationship official. Saara couldn't hold back her tears, and rambled on and on about how she was going to take Errum to a new city, with a beach, definitely, she had never seen one, and Saara knew with her motherly instinct that she would love a sunny beach. She would make Errum talk again, they would read together, gossip together and have unlimited fun like other normal mother-daughter duo do. They would finally be away from the disgusting world of drugs, alcohol, abuse, bullying and start a life afresh. Phills listened to her talk with admiration.

Waking her up from her trance,
Saara's phone pinged.

"Come to the roof, quick."

Saara arched her brows. Rooftop? All on a sudden?

She climbed the stairs of her two storied house and looked around. The roof was dirty, with leaves and broken bottles all around. It needed a good cleaning, why didn't Alayna pay attention to that when she was cleaning the house? Saara made a mental note to ask her about it.

She walked around a bit, waiting. Suddenly she heard someone slowly walking behind her.

She turned around, and there she was, in her hoodie and converse, Errum.

"Errum, honey, when did you come back? Did you have lunch? Do you want me to make you something?" Saara sincerely smiled, trying hard to be the good mother, trying to get accepted by her daughter.

But Errum wasn't listening. Her eyes were fixed on Saara, her breathing unsteady, her anger brimming inside her. Saara instantly had a flashback to the day when Errum had attacked her, the attack that left her crying to her pillows for days. Errum's face radiated the same anger that was radiated that afternoon.

Saara gulped and her lips quivered. Thinking about that attack gave her goosebumps. She backed away a little.

"Are you okay, Hun? Let's go downstairs, shall we? I'll hear about your day."

Errum walked closer and closer to her, and Saara backed off, conscious about the drop just a feet behind her. She mentally prayed for Alayna to arrive and help her out, the only person who could calm Errum down.

What was this dynamic they had? A mother scared of her own daughter? Saara fought back tears. She wanted everything to be better so bad. But it was getting harder and harder every single day.

"Whatever it is, we'll talk it through, okay? In fact, I have s-so many good news for you, you will be so glad, Errum. All of this bad things will be over. Just..trust me."

Saara was now at the edge of the roof. One more step back and she was going down. She calculated how much it would take to push Errum and run, but knowing Errum, it was true Saara was way more fragile and tired. They were on the edge, one wrong slip and they were both falling. A struggle might be fatal for both of them.

"Alayna! Alayna! Ala-" Saara broke into fits if cough trying to scream for help from her daughter.

As Saara tried to recover from the coughs, Errum walked forward and pushed her with all her might.

Last thing Saara saw was Errum looking down at her mother going down. Screams didn't escape her mouth. She did not throw her arms and legs around. Instead, she accepted the fate of being killed by her favorite daughter, the one she had relentlessly struggled for, all her life.

Her last seconds felt like a lifetime. A drop of tear rolled down her cheek as she realized this was the end, the end of the life she had imagined for her and Errum. There was no escape anymore

And then all she saw was darkness.

A/N: A short but a crucial chapter,fellas.

I was in a writer's block for some days :3 It's good to be back at it.

Errum pushed Mrs. Hassan. But it's not the end, yet. Thoughts?
