Errum ran to catch the pretty little butterfly. So beautiful were it's wings, colorful and fine! Unlike her. She couldn't be this colorful, or this pretty. She wasn't allowed to.But she was colorful. Secretly. Whenever saint wasn't looking.
But saint said she was everywhere, watching...
The weather was peaceful today- the stream water tasted sweet, the flowers bloomed and most importantly, the birds sang today.
Her heart leaped in joy.
The birds sang today.
The birds sang today.
The birds san...Errum sat and relaxed her feet on the edge of the river. This was what she liked the most about their ancient house. The meadows were so pretty, so were the birds, so was the cute little puppy running in circles. She smiled and stopped instantly.
Saint is watching me. All the time. Everywhere. She quickly said a prayer in silence so the saint might forgive her. She sincerely hoped so, after all, Saint never punishes babies who are good.
Suddenly the dry leaves behind the bushes scrunched and took Errum on guard. She could feel heat rushing to her head, her heart throbbing hard in her chest. She thought about saint, and started sweating so profusely she could've fainted.
"Old Mother Huuuubbard,"
The voice stung her ears, barely a whisper, added with the ominous silence that prevailed within seconds."Went to the cupboard,
To give the poor dog a bone.
When she came there
The cupboard was bare-
And so the poor dog had none!"Errum's throat went dry, her pupils dilated, her heart beating so fast and loud, she could hear it.
"She went to the baker's
To buy him some bread,
When she came back
The dog was dead!"The witch cackled, the voice she knew since forever, as eerie and mysterious as ever.
The Red Saint was here.
Tall and lean, covered in a red oversized raincoat, Saint slowly came out of the shadows and took a step towards Errum.
"How's my little baby?"
The hood hung so low Errum could barely make out her face. Not that she wanted to, how many nights has she spent sleepless, afraid of everything that could be hiding behind the red hood?
"S..saint-"
"There's my sweet little girl! Aren't you delighted to meet me again? Huh?"
Errum gulped audibly.
"Now, Errum, do you know what day is it?"
Her voice was so low Errum could hardly make out what she was saying.
"M-monday"
"Not that silly! Did you forget?"
Sigh.
"It's judgement day!" She screamed.
Errum's leg itched, she wanted to run so bad, but she knew that would be futile.
Saint will always find you.
"Now tell me, honestly, has Errum been a bad girl?"
Errum lowered her gaze.
"Never lie to saint."
Errum slightly nodded.
"Let's go over there, shall we?" The saint said, pointing to the garage, "In our own little world? Where no one can find us."
Errum followed the saint as the entered the garage and shut the door.
Screams from top of the lung followed.
