It's been a year now and everything is amazing. For the first time in my life, we celebrated my birthday. I didn't know that was a thing but in one year, Bucky and Steve taught me many things. I'm like the mascot of the camp, as soon as I pass someone, they say hi to me and I even have special handshake with some. I don't miss anything about Hydra and I'm glad that the brave men here are stopping them. Everyday, new prisoners from the evil organization arrive here.

"Lyly, sweetie, Steve and I are going on a mission, you stay here safe with Auntie Peggy right?" Bucky asks me.

"Yes, papa." The word left my mouth before I could stop it. "I mean Bucky."

But all I can see is Buck smiling. Why is he smiling? I just made things weird.

"Don't worry, you can call me papa. You remember? I'm your father now, I adopted you five months ago."

Oh, that's right. How did I forget that? I guess I had many good things this year but that was the best one. Knowing that I wouldn't be alone for the rest of my life was an amazing feeling.

"Yeah, well be carefull papa. I don't want you to leave me here alone." I say

"Even if I would have to leave you, you wouldn't be alone. You have Auntie Peggy and Uncle Steve." My dad tries to reassure me.

"But it wouldn't be the same without you." I said looking down at my feet.

"I know, but I'm gonna come back okay? I promise."

Everytime he has to go I'm so scared that he will never come back. But it's a risk and he is willing to take it. I always try to act brave in front of him but sometimes I just can't. It's too hard. I hug him tightly, afraid that maybe it's the last time I'll be in his arms. As I watch my dad and my uncle walk away with their troops, I have a bad feeling. I always do but this time, this time it's worse. It's now been at least 10 hours and they're not back yet. It can't be a good sign.

"Come on darling, I want to take you somewhere." I hear Peggy say behind me.

"But it's late and I have to wait for my papa."

"Lydia, please just come with me." She beg.

I get up from the ground and follow Peggy into the car. When we finally stop, we are in ruins and in a part of the city that has been destroyed.

"Lydia, sweetie, could you wait in the car till I come  back? It will not be long, ok?"

"Yes, Auntie Peggy." I answer.

Peggy gets out of the car and walks into what looks like a place where the adults danced before the war. I don't know how long it has beensince I'm in the care alone but I had enough. I know Aunt Peggy asked me to stay here but I'm bored. I get out of the car too and follow the lady inside the building until I hear her and Steve talking.

"You did everything you could" I hear the woman say.

"Did you read the report?" Captain America says.

"Yes"

"Then you know that's not true."

What are they talking about? But if Steve's here, where's my dad?

"Did you believe in your friend?" Peggy asks him. "Did you respect him?"

The only real friend that I know Steve has is my papa. Wait, are they talking about him? No, they're talking as if he were dead. It's not true, that can't be happening. He promised to come back to me. He promised. Some tears start to form in my eyes.

"Then stop blaming yourself."

"My papa is gone?" I ask.

I made both of them turn towards me. My tears were threatening to fall at any moment now.

"Lydia, I told you to wait in the car." Peggy says upset.

"Sweetheart, I'm so sorry..."

Steve can't finish his sentence because I already ran away, tears streaming down my cheeks. I run so much that I don't even realize I've runned into the woods until I trip over a root. As I fall, I let out a small yelp. When I was about to get up, I hear footsteps and they're becoming closer and closer. It's probably Steve or Peggy anyway, it's not really important. That's what I thought until the man came out of a bush in an all black uniform and an unique logo sewn on his shoulders, a red octopus meaning that the soldier is from Hydra. I try to get up as fast as I can but the evil man is faster and grabs me. I let out a loud, piercing scream. He injects me with a yellow liquid syringe.

"LYDIA!" I hear Steve shouts.

"STEVE!" I shout back before everything becomes black.
