I wake up, weak. I can't even stay on my feet by myself. Two guards came to my side to get me out of the machine and started to take me somewhere. It's not the first time that they took me out of this thing. When they think that I've been in there for too long, they take me out, made me train. Sometimes they experiment on me too, just to be sure that putting me in this kind of freezer doesn't have any side effects. The first time they took me out, they said that our great chief had died and that we lost the war. Honestly, they lost their chief and the world and I won.

"What year is it now?" I ask.

"Why do you want to know?" One of the guards says, clearly annoyed.

"I just want to know!"

"2014!"

2014! The last time we were in 1965. This freezer keeps me young. I was still a 5 year old child as they froze me to see what it would do to a kid. They let me train and practice my powers to perfection until 1945 and put me back in that freezer until they needed to train me again then repeated. When they defreezed, it was never really long because it happened three times and only for a few months.

"We have a new chief and he wants you to meet someone again."

Again? Who? Everyone I know is probably dead or very old. We walk a little before entering a room full of people.

"Thank you, Rumlow, for bringing Assassin Shadow in." A man who is maybe 50, 55 years old. "Hi Shadow, I'm Alexander Pierce, but you have to call me sir, understand?" I nod. "Are you ready to meet our best guy, Shadow?"

"My name is Lydia not Shadow!" I hiss at him.

"From now on, it's Shadow and your whole name is The Assassin Shadow. Do you understand me?" He says as he crouches down in front of me.

I nod my head to show him that I refuse.

"NO! My name is Lydia Barnes!" I reply.

The guy slap me, hard enough for me to fall on the ground. As I get up, the man grab my arm.

"You forget this name, got it?" He says sternly, removing his grip on me. "Bring him in!"

I hear a door open, I turn to look at it. A tall man enters, I can't see what he looks like because of his mask and goggles. His left arm is a silver metal arm with a red star on the shoulder. He kind of reminds me of someone but I can't figure out who.

"Солдат, познакомься с дочкой."

(Soldier, meet your daughter.)

He says pointing at me.

Doesn't he know that I speak Russian? Daughter? The only person that I could be his daughter is dead because of them.

"Daughter? What do you mean? I'm not his daughter!"

The men turn towards me.

"Soldier, remove your mask and goggles."

As the dark and scary man does as he's told, I watch him intently. My eyes widen and tears flood my vision as he finishes removing what was hiding his face. This is impossible. I don't believe what I see before my eyes. My supposed dead father, standing in front of me.

"Papa?" I say, on the verge of crying.

My dad just looks at me with dark eyes like he doesn't know who I am. The tears are now streaming down my cheeks but there is still not one emotion on his face.

"Oh yeah maybe I should have told you, kid, that your dad is not the same as before." He says, smiling.

"Why doesn't my papa recognize me?" I ask between sobs.

"Because we have made sure that his past does not disturb him during his missions."

"But my papa is dead."

"Listen, we saved your dad a long time ago and since then he has accepted to work for us. Happy?" He says, annoyed. "And you're going to work with your dad."

"I am not!"

A part of me does want to work with my father but the other doesn't because that means I'll work for Hydra. The people who hurted my dad and me.

"Well, you don't have a choice anyway."

I can't even look at this man. He's worse than Schimdt and Pierce doesn't even have a red scary face.

" Зимний солдат, возьми ее с собой, но, пожалуйста, не причиняй ей вреда. В конце концов, она твой ребенок."

(Winter Soldier, take her with you, but please don't hurt her. After all, she is your child.)

My dad approaches and takes me by the arm, trying not to touch me with his metal arm. When no one can see us anymore, he takes my hand in his hand of flesh.

"Don't worry doll, I recognized you the moment I walked in." Bucky says, squeezing gently my hand.

I turn my head to look at him, seeing a reassuring look in his eyes. A big smile appeared on my face.

"And I think that you're the only thing I remembered. When everything was confused in my head the only clear thing I could see was you."

Didn't really understand what he wanted to say but I nodded to make him happy and it worked because he is smiling even more.

"So, this is our new home." He says pointing towards a cell.

"I prefered the home we had before." I declare.

"I guess you're right. I don't really remember."

Some guards were already waiting in front of our cell to lock us in. It's cold and really dirty. We have to sleep on the rock floor and the only thing to warm ourselves with is some old curtains that had fallen from the high little window. I thought maybe we could escape from this window but it was so small that I couldn't even fit in. Dad and I spent a lot of time talking about what happened while we were apart, how I am now very strong and have superpowers. He told me how he got the metal arm but I'm pretty sure that he lied about some of it. I just enjoy the fact that I'm with my papa again. After a while, I started to get tired so I laid down and tried to sleep. The last thing I hear before driving asleep is my dad's voice.

"Спокойной ночи, куколка."

(Goodnight, doll.")
