A hero can't save everyone

A/N: ANGST!!!! WE NEED THE ANGST!! Warning for this chapter. Mass murder of children. If murdering children makes you uncomfortable, go on to the next chapter.

Izuku Midoriya number 1 hero was face to face with a villain that threaten a Elementary school. Wondering why the villain would do such thing, he was foolish to just go in and attack. He can hurt the children. The children were scared, they didn't know what was happening, they were far too young to know anything about villains. Izuku tried to his best to get to the villain but he couldn't, he was like it was a dead end. "Come on Deku, don't tell me you given up already, how pathetic, how can you call yourself the number 1 hero, if you can't save a school." The villains said. Izuku was tempted to attack, but he knew he couldn't. He looked into the classroom and saw a child, the child was small, she has blue hair and green eyes. She put her hand on the window. "YOU CAN DO IT DEKU!!" Yelled the blue hair girl.

Izuku took that as motivation, he powered up. "What? Can't face me? How can you call yourself a villain if you need children to protect you from me." Izuku said. The villain grew mad. Izuku was able to get a punch in without damaging the school. The villain wasn't gonna surrender that easily, she pushed Izuku off and used her quirk to push him back a few blocked, unfortunately for the villain, Izuku has 7 quirks, one of them being able to float. "Face it, you lost." Izuku said. It was true, the villain was very weak, it looked like at any given second she can pass out. "No I haven't...." She said. Izuku looked at the window again and saw the blue hair girl smiling, she looked so happy, Izuku was determined to keep her that way, to each all of them alive and happy. That's his job as the number 1 hero.

The villain got back up and attacked again, only this time getting no hits on Izuku. Izuku was able to pin her down. "Give it up, you lost, let's wait until the police arrives" Izuku said. That's when the villain laughed. All he can do is laughed. "What's so funny?" Izuku said. "I was at the building before you. An hour before you" she said. "So?" The villain smiled. "I won..." with that building exploded. The blue hair girl that was at the window burned to ash with the rest of the kids. Izuku let go the villain in shock. He went down to the scene but all nothing but ashes and broken up bricks and glass. "T-t-the kids...." Izuku mumbled. He fell to his knees. He failed. He let down those kids...even after one yelled he could do it....he still let down those kids...

The villain also jumped down. "I told you I won, now they're all dead, because their hero couldn't save them in time." Izuku didn't pay attention to her. What's the point, she won. "Good day hero" she said as she was running away. A few minutes later the media came here as well as other pro heroes. A lot of reporters went up to Izuku asking him all sorts of questions like "Deku is it true you got beat by a girl?" Or "is it true there was no survivors", "is it true a whole Elementary school blown up filled of kids", "how can you, the number 1 hero let this happen", "where were the other pros in this mess" Izuku didn't answer anything, to shocked to even speak.

A woman with blue hair and green eyes went up to Izuku. "Where's my baby? Please tell me she's still alive" Izuku broke down. He's now on his knees crying in front of the lady, in front of everyone "I'm so sorry! I failed...I couldn't save her, I couldn't save any of them." With that the lady also started to cry. All the parents started to cry. They blamed more of the other pros then Izuku, Izuku made an effect yet he was alone, why the fuck was he alone? Did the hero Commission think this was a little thing to only send one hero? Did they overestimated Izuku's power? Did they think these children wasn't worth saving?! The questions all turned to the pros that weren't on the scene of the crime.

That meeting was painful for Izuku, the media is going crazy about this epic fail. "Hero Deku, I hope you are aware of what this means now" Izuku wasn't paying attention. "My ranking will go down, I know, I don't deserve it anyways" he said. "No, it means you have to take a break. You can't do it all the time." Izuku jumped up from his seat. "I can't take a break! This is my fault! If I would have known she planted bombs inside the building I could have saved them all! This is on me! I was called to save them! I failed! Me! Why am I getting a break?! If anything I should work harder!" Ochaco raised up from what she was sitting. "Deku-kun, please, you need the break. You need to clear your head. Just please go home for now." Izuku sighed and left the room angrily.

Izuku walked home, luckily with no interruptions. When he got there Katsuki was waiting for him. Izuku took off his shoes and went over to sit next to Katsuki in the couch. Katsuki put his arm around Izuku. "Want to talk about it?" It's obvious Katsuki watched the news, even if he didn't watch the news, the hero Commission send him an email, he knows exactly what happened, that phone call almost got him fired. Katsuki cursed HQ out saying "well why the fuck would you only call out of him! Not only was that an S-ranked Villain, we were dealing with a bombing which needed evacuation alert! Even tho you didn't know there was a bomb why only send one person there! God do your fucking job right!" Katsuki was right though, they should have known this. The villain was there a hour before hand. That's a lot of time to do a lot of things.

Izuku broke down in Katsuki's arms, sobbing and screaming. "It's my fault! It's all my fault! I had to tell mothers their kids were dead because of my mistake!" Izuku screamed out. That can be a harmful thing. Telling a mother you will never see her child again. That's terrifying to even think about. Katsuki held him close. "It's not your fault, why would they only send you? Sure you're the number 1 hero, but Damn it we all have limits to how much we can take. That was a huge mission! Way more pros should have been on that case. Just sending in you was a mistake, now not only you have to feel the guilt of HQ's mistake, you're the one that had to cover for it as well. It isn't fair to you. You gave it your all, but you can't do it alone, not even all might himself could have did that alone back in the day. So please Izuku, don't cry for HQ's mistakes. Heroes can't always save everyone" Katsuki said.

Izuku wiped his tears. Katsuki kissed his forehead. "Get some rest, you can cuddle me and I'll carry you into the room later." Katsuki said. Izuku laid his head on Katsuki's chest and went to sleep
