(sorry, had to be done, but small time skip - about two months.)why did you want to meet me here, now?," i asked, my hands burrowed in the depths of my pockets as an attempt to hide them from the efforts of the icicles of wind that pierced through the dark sky as the seasons began to shift.
the air was cold, the skies iced with grey dense rain clouds withholding their weeping momentarily; the students went from spending their free periods in ditsy dresses and airy clothing to knitted garments and trekking boots.
it had been a few weeks since me and lorenzo had spoken properly, we'd both been studying - lorenzo surprisingly was actually studying and not continuing to overuse recreational drugs in his dorm every night - i suppose lucius played a part in this, because draco had suddenly stopped bringing girls around and was also now nose-dipped within a book too.
"i'm sorry i haven't made time for you, val." lorenzo muttered apologetically as he ran a hand through his hair, that stood out against the frosted backdrop like fresh oak embers, his warmth radiated from his face like a fire competing against the thickening snow, melting his surroundings. as did his eyes give off the exact same impression.
he was wearing a black puffer jacket, and quidditch tracksuit bottoms, his nose was dusted tickled pink at the end, presuming the bitter winter weather had caused it to turn this way - his breaths condensing into a huff of smoke as we walked along the courtyard.
it was quiet, nobody wanted to go outside after hours anymore due to the weather.
an ambience was omnipresent within the air as we both walked along side each-other, peacefully.
we knew that there was something going on between us, but neither of us were in the correct state to produce a serious, committed product from it.
so we mutually and mentally both decided to take it slow.
bitch. if only you knew.
we weaved in and out of the ruins of previous facilities that had deteriorated from being unused on the school grounds for so long, mainly little stone cabins that apparently, was a part of a farm settlement before the land was sold off to build the school.
half of the building's roof eroded away due to neglected up-keeping, as originally the roof was thatched and had to be replaced every eight to ten years, but obviously nobody had provided that service for a long time, so time took its toll on the petite building.
it was almost pitch black now, the only light being conducted was when the fluorescent stars caught themselves on the snow below, making the floor appear like glitter, glistening.
"i love this." i huffed out, stopping abruptly on the spot as i peered upwards into the sky.
i was always a winter person.
i felt lorenzo walk up behind me, as he rested his chin on my shoulder, his arms slipping around my waist.
"mmm?," he hummed into my neck, "you'd love skiing, then."
"i used to go with my grandparents when i was little." i said quietly, leaning my head back into him as my back was pressed against his chest.
"it's a muggle thing, but we should go. with the others." he smirked, "i bet blaise would be terrible at it - he'd scream like a baby if he fell over."
i let out a chuckle, he was so right.
"onyx wouldn't be able to cope with him. especially not with two skis attached to his feet - she can barely stand him here normally." i joked, rolling my eyes.
