Part 1

"Ryan, stop talking to Aisha and get your work done."

"Okay, Mme. I will try to work quieter." Ryan said, with his biggest (fake) apologetic smile.

Everyone knows that Ryan has this whole, bad boy thing going on but, no one believes it. He's known for talking back to our English teacher Mr.M on a regular basis with his sly, comical comebacks. He never does his work, even though he is probably the one of smartest kids in our class and he acts like everything you say is the dirtiest thing that could have been thought. He is really tall and has dark brown hair that flips up at the front. And yes, you guessed it, he is the only guy in my table group.

Ryan is only one of the six kids at my group. There's Ryan, Macy, Kathy, Katiniss, Aisha, and me, Catarina. But other than Ryan, only 2 of us are brunettes.

Katiniss has chocolate brown hair with honey highlights. She is pretty darn tall and really strong. She's sometimes a little out there, but is a great person to hang out with and she is super sporty which is really good thing since some of our table doesn't really enjoy sports.

The other brunette is, me of course. I also love sports and school is one of my favourite places to be. In my group I'm known as a "picky eater." My hair and eyes are dark brown, but I have pretty fair, pale skin.

Macy is definitely the funniest one in the group. She is petit, with bright blue eyes, and bleach blonde hair. She is always ready for a good laugh but also is prepared to work hard in school. She is really artistic and can make anything beautiful.

Then there's Kathy who is downright hilarious. She is kind to everyone but man, can she tell a joke. She is quite short, and has blonde hair and blue eyes, just like Macy. I think she is a textaholic, because she just loves reading sooooooo much, that she can't wait to read what the person sends back to her.

And lastly, but of course not least, the is Aisha. She is tall, slim, and has braces. She is good at sports, but her drawings are out of this world. She has a kind heart, but is really shy, and sometimes it is kinda hard to get to know her. Her favourite sports include soccer and track, and she is really great at both of them.

So was it coincidental that us 6, got put into the same table group? I think not! We were put together for a greater purpose. Sadly though, we hit a few speed bumps along the way.

It all started on January 12th, 2013. We had just come back from our winter holidays, and were stoked to get to see all of our friends again. We were also excited for the desk change that we knew was about to come. We all wanted to sit beside our friends, but we didn't normally get what we hoped for. I thought I was hearing things when my teacher said, "Catarina, you will be in between Kathy and Katiniss."

Kathy and Katniss definitely were not my first choices to sit beside. I mean, there's nothing wrong with them or anything, we just don't really seem to click. Sure Katniss and I have played sports together, but there havent been any school sports this year. Kathy and I chat about the odd book sometimes, but we are more like acquaintances, not friends. I just find something about them to be different, or maybe even hidden.

After I had finished moving my desk, I saw who was in the row of desks across from me. None other than Macy, Aisha and Ryan. Can you guess what they were doing, while I finished putting my desk in place? Yes, they were bickering.

"Move your desk down, cause I don't have any room!" Ryan shouted grumpily.

"Why don't you lose a couple pounds and then we wouldn't have this problem?" Macy fired back. Although we all knew she was just kidding, (because, I mean, Ryan is as thick as a board. He has no visible fat on him.) Ryan didn't seem to think so.

"I'm sorry, I couldn't hear you. Were you talking to me, because I have better things to do than listen to than you shout nasty remarks at me."

Then of course Kathy and Katiniss wanted to join in on the fun of annoying Ryan. So they just had to add in our two sense as well.

"C'mon Ryan, your closer to Macy than me and I still heard it. I think she was saying something about getting you on a weight loss program." Kathy said with a smirk on her face.

"Yeah, I heard Weight Watchers is having a free trial month. Why don't you sign up and see what a difference you can make." Katiniss added.

Of course I didn't want to add into the drama, so I didn't comment.

I was a little afraid to see if this rumour about Ryan being a bad, tough, and mean guy was true. He did scare me a little bit, and I didn't exactly want to be on his bad side. Luckily, the conversation dropped when he added his final comment to the matter.

"Okay whatever, I just hope we get a new desk change soon." Ryan mumbled under his breath.

And this is where my story begins...
