Adam was still giving me dirty looks. That is, when he wasn't ogling at Tia. So I'm pretty sure he has a thing for her. Though I can't help but wonder what his reason is to keep looking at me like he does. What did I ever do to him? Who knows. I have a feeling I might find out, sooner or later.
Tia is absolutely oblivious to the fact that Adam keeps staring at her. It reminds me of how Macy doesn't notice Ryan's similar habits. I just wish that I didn't have to find out who Macy likes! Talk about awkward.
But I told Ryan I would, and I'm not one to break a promise. So I guess I'm stuck finding out for him.
It was recess and I spotted Macy easily. She was laughing whole heartedly with her usual group of friends. I walked over there with a small smile. Better get this over with.
"Ummm, hey Mace, got a minute?" I asked when she noticed me. Macy was sporting her usual friendly smile.
"Yea, sure. What's up?" She asked looking at me curiously as I pulled her away from her friends.
"Do you like anybody?" I blurted. She looked slightly surprised for a second before finding her words.
"Why are you asking?"
Oh... This is where it gets tricky. Technically, I can't answer that or Ryan is going to have my head. So I guess it's time to be subtle!
"Well, it's just that I might possibly know someone who likes you..." I answered, waiting to hear how she would respond.
"It isn't Adam is it? That would be sweet considering I've always thought he was really cool. I've had a small crush on him before! I never thought that he would like me back. But I was pretty sure he had his eyes on Tia," She rambled on. Good to see I'm not the only one that thinks he has something for Tia.
Hold up!!! Since when has she liked Adam?! I've never seen him talk to her, much less look at her... Not that I would care.
"Actually Mace... It's Ryan. He really likes you a lot. But wanted to know if you liked him back or not. I'm sorry that it wasn't Adam. So I'll just tell Ryan that you like someone else I guess." I said, feeling a little disappointed for Ryan. I started to turn around and to look for him when suddenly, Macy stopped me.
"Wait a minute. So you're saying that Ryan, big, bad, I'm-too-cool-for-you Ryan... likes me?" She asked.
Oh shoot! He's going to kill me for telling her! And she doesn't even like him. Well, it had to be done. Sorry Ryan, sisters before misters.
I nodded my head solemnly. And then she started giggling. Giggling? I waited for her to say something.
"Yeah, I meant what I said about Adam, but I've actually started to like Ryan way more. I just didn't think that Ryan would ever like me. I mean, he told me himself that I was a goody two shoes. But I do like him a lot. He's become a lot nicer to me and I guess now I know why. So what now?"
Woah. She actually does?! Hmm. Opposites attract maybe?
"Well, he wants me to tell him what I found out. Is that okay with you?"
"Yea, I just hope he isn't just joking around with me. That would be freaking embarrassing! I hate all that stupid drama stuff." She answered looking at the ground.
When I didn't say anything she glanced back up at me. So I looked her right in the eye and said, "Trust me Mace, he is not joking with you. He seriously means it. When he asked me to find out who you liked, he looked so terrified," I tried my best not to laugh as I remembered Ryan's face.
Then I continued, "He didn't want me to know it was him who liked you. Even though he made it really obvious. He was afraid that people might think less of him if he liked somebody. But now I'm sure he doesn't care what other people think. He just cares about what you think."
"Awwwww, that is so sweet," She gushed. "But it also makes this harder to believe. That doesn't sound like the Ryan I know Catrina."
"Yea I know. But ever since he's developed a crush on you, he has been so much nicer I swear," I said to reassure her. "Anyway, I suppose I better go talk to Ryan."
"Cat, hang on a second. I don't mind you telling him of course, but let's keep this conversation to ourselves, okay?" She asked me with a smile, but I noticed a hint of worry in her eyes. "Yeah, okay. Don't worry Mace, I'm not one to let secrets lose."
Boy, was that the truth. I had enough already, what's one more? It's not like I was a gossip anyway.
I gave her a reassuring smile. Which she returned with a small thankful one. Then she went back over to join her friends. And with that, I was off to tell Ryan what he was dying to hear.
