"Oh my gosh! Kathy, we can't just let her lie hear on the floor. What if she goes into a coma, or has a seizure or-oh no, what if she dies?! I can't live wit-"
"Katiniss, please! She'll be fine, just shut up okay?" Kathy asked sounding quite annoyed. I could faintly hear them through my pounding headache and super sore stomach, which seemed to be making loud noises. I still couldn't seem to move any parts of my body. It felt as if I were tied down to the floor so I couldn't get up. Even my eyes felt as though they'd been sewn shut.
Then I could hear Kathy whisper something to Katniss. "What if she has amnesia, and can't remember all the secrets?"
Obviously, Kathy has gone bonkers. Secrets? I don't think so. I don't even remember where I am, let alone remember secr- Wait... where am I?
I started to freak out inside, but my body didn't make a single move. I have no idea where I am. Or why the heck Kathy and Katniss are freaking out for my sake. It's not like I've ever even talked to them before. Something just isn't adding up in this picture!
"Catarina? Can you hear us? We just want to know that your okay." Katiniss said to me sweetly. "Kathy!"
"What? What is it?!" Kathy asked urgently.
"I have an idea! I promise I'll be right back." She answered excitedly. Then I could hear Katiniss' shoes shuffle across the floor before the door creaked open. I assumed she had left... well, wherever we are now.
"Catarina, I'm not sure what's happening right now, but I just want you to know that you have been an amazing friend to me. Although I might not mean as much to you, as you do to me, I still hope that you're okay. You've helped me and Katiniss through tough times, and I never exactly had the chance to say thanks. So, thank you." She finished. I could hear her voice get a little shaky, and she seemed to be sniffling as though she were crying.
Had I really helped her that much? I'm not even sure what I did at this point.
Before I could dwell on that thought any longer, the door once again creaked open to the sound of Katiniss' excited voice. "I got it. If anything will be able to get her up, it's this."
I heard Kathy gasp as excitedly as Katiniss sounded. "That's got to work!"
Before I knew what was happening, I felt my mouth being pried open, while a cold liquid was being poured down my throat. It tasted so good, and it was, chocolate milk?
I started to feel a little better after some of the liquid had been swallowed. Just then I felt my mouth once again, being pried open, and in went a chocolate bar. A delicious Mars bar to be exact. I was able to slowly move my teeth to crunch on the chocolate, when my body started to feel less stiff.
I opened my eyes, and staring at me were two terrified looking girls. They both looked as though they were going to cry, but kept everything inside. Then they laughed. Yes, laughed.
"Don't you ever do that again." Kathy said to me with a warning tone.
"We were so worried about you and you really went to lots of trouble to get Ryan mad, didn't you?" Katiniss spoke with a hint of amusement.
"Get Ryan mad about what?" I asked curiously. I had absolutely no idea what they were talking about. And again, since when do I talk to Ryan?
"Saying that Macy liked Adam when you knew that she liked Ryan, Silly." Katiniss answered. Okay, time to back up this crazy train.
Why would I do that to someone? Especially someone like Ryan. Why in the world would Macy like Ryan? Did Ryan like Macy back? Since when does she like Ryan anyway? Does he even know the truth now? And when did I start talking to Macy?!
To say I was confused, boy would that be an understatement! I seriously have no idea what the heck is wrong with me or why I can't remember anything they're telling me. I wonder if something happened while I was in the... well, it looks like the girls bathroom. I wonder why I'm on the floor, and why-
I was once again brought out of my thoughts by someone interrupting me. Well, something this time actually. The school bell sounded, and I looked at the girls, who looked as equally startled as I felt.
"Let's go." Kathy said while helping me up.
"Woah, woah, woah, woah, woah!" Katiniss exclaimed.
"What?" Kathy and I chorused.
"You can't exactly go back to class looking like that Catarina. Unless you want to be known as that freak with panda eyes and bloody arms." Katiniss explained in a tone of voice that said 'duh!'.
I looked myself over... Wow. She wasn't wrong. "Oh. Right." I said kind of ashamed and embarrassed, mostly because I don't even know how I ended up like this.
"But we have to go! I don't know if you realized this, but the bell just rang." Said Kathy frantically.
"The warning bell Kathy, that was the warning bell." Katiniss replied smugly. "Now help me sort Catarina out, we only have three minutes!" She ordered.
"Alright, alright. Geez, sorry." Kathy muttered. The next few minutes were spent frantically scrubbing off my mascara streaked face and my... not-so-healthy-looking arms. How this happened I had know idea still. There were a billion questions running through my head, but I just didn't have the time.
Katiniss slipped off her sweater so I could hide my scarred arms. I was so grateful they were here to help me, but why were they? I don't remember doing anything for them. But I still thanked them.
The final bell rang and together we walked out of the bathroom and down to my classroom. I didn't recognize it at all. I had no idea what was going to be in store for me now.
Especially since I can't seem to remember anything that's apparently happened in the past couple months.
