Part 21-Ryan

RYAN'S POV

"Macy, wait!" Kathy exclaimed. Everyone else was too stunned to say anything.

I couldn't decide whether I was angry, upset, confused or whatever. The only thing I did know was that I wanted answers from Macy. How could she not tell me about possibly the most important problem in her life?

I watched the class all get up and start to walk out of the room. They were whispering to their friends. No doubt everything that just went on will be all over the freaking school in no time.

I saw Kathy get up out of her chair and call Macy's name again. I don't think so, I thought as I stopped her at the door before she could go any further.

"Kathy, don't worry. I got it."

"But-" Kathy sighed. "This whole thing is so messed up." She muttered.

"Aisha from Mme. M's 7/8 class please report to the office, thank you." Announced an office lady over the P.A. system. The four of us watched Aisha tuck in her chair and silently walk to the door. Nobody said a word. She took a deep breath and let it out before walking out of the classroom, slamming the door behind her. At least this way she can't attack Kathy... At the moment.

"Well, I guess I'll see you guys after recess." Kathy announced half-heatedly.

"Wait a second Kathy. Why didn't you tell me about your secret?" Kataniss asked. It was while before Kathy looked up from the floor to meet Kataniss' eyes.

"I was scared, okay?" Kathy choked with a quiet voice. I knew she had shed a few more tears because she was furiously wiping at her eyes. "Besides," She said coldly. "Why would I tell someone who doesn't trust me?"

"Kathy, I think it's best if you take a break outside..." I suggested calmly. I'm pretty sure heck will break lose again if something isn't done. Kathy needed some air. But before she could respond to me, Kataniss jumped in.

"Of course I trust you, why wouldn't I? We're friends that tell each other everything." Kataniss replied angrily with a hurt look. I don't know about Catarina, but I feel pretty awkward in this situation.

"Is that what you told Catarina?!" She shouted matching Kataniss' pained expression. Make that double awkward.

Everything was silent for a few seconds. Kathy was glaring at Kataniss, while Kataniss was speechless. I for one was pretty lost at this point and Catarina, well, hadn't seemed to notice anything going on around her. She was just solemnly fiddling with the bead on a bracelet she was wearing.

A few seconds, that felt like hours, passed by. I didn't want to say anything. I left that to Kataniss.

"What do you mean 'Is that what I-'" Kataniss was cut off by a loud slam of the door. Kathy had left. Hopefully to go outside and clear her head.

I still can't believe she cuts. I mean I have nothing against her, or it. I'm sure she must have a good reason and all, but this is Kathy. I don't think anyone would've expected this from her.

"Umm, okay then." Kataniss said with a confused tone and a small forced smile. "You guys going outside?"

"Oh, right, yeah. I need to find Macy." I mentally cursed myself. Since Aisha told me recently about Kataniss. It's awkward for me, but not her since she doesn't know I know that she... You know.

Kataniss looked away from me and clucked her tongue. "Right." She said with a sickly sweet smile. I'm such an idiot sometimes. "Catarina?" She asked.

"Hmm?" Catarina responded absent mindedly without snapping out of whatever sad trace it looked like she was in.

"Uhh, are you gonna leave with us?" I asked awkwardly.
