                                       D - 7

for the first time this January, rain fell. it was shocking to say the least. after so many days and months of snow and ice, there was finally the first rainfall. Lavender smiled, walking out of the door with her umbrella covering her head.

it was almost 9 pm, night fell. she spent today with her grandmother as a belated birthday, shopping, baking and cooking while watching some of their favorite shows. she hadn't seen Beomgyu or Taehyun at all today, other than when she passed by the flower shop and saw the blonde haired boy sitting at a table writing. she loved that he was enjoying himself surrounded by flowers, it increased his love for botanicals tremendously.

she wanted to take a small walk around the town and maybe stop by Beomgyu's house to see what he was up to. though, she stopped in her footsteps once she heard a familiar voice at the payphone.

she hid behind view, honestly surprised and glad that he learned how to use the payphone. but the conversation he was having confused her more than anything.

"i haven't told her yet."

who was he talking about?

"i know i've had three months to do it.

i'm going to tell her soon, i just don't know how.

i'm scared, Korea is so far from here and i don't know how she'll react. i've been hiding it for months, i'm too afraid to say anything about it.

telling my girlfriend i'm moving away forever isn't as easy as it may seem, mother."

a teardrop fell from Lavender's eye and without thinking, she dropped her umbrella to the ground, soaking her entire body. Beomgyu whipped his head around and hung up the pay phone, absolutely bewildered about what she might've heard.

"L-Lavender." Beomgyu walked out from the payphone, the rain hitting him harder than the dagger to his heart. he walked up to the girl until they were eye to eye.

"you're lying, right?" Beomgyu couldn't tell if what was dropping from her eyes were tears or raindrops from the sky. "you're leaving forever?"

"Lavender—"

"and you never told me?" the light from the shops shined on her face, shimmering her tears to gloss. the sight of rain hitting her hard stabbed Beomgyu in the heart. "you've known you would have to leave ever since you got here but you never told me?"

"Lavender, please—"

"you've known this for three months and you didn't tell me?" she scoffed. "why, why wouldn't you tell me you'd never end up coming back? was i just somebody you loved for three months and then you'll forget about me?"

Beomgyu looked up sternly. "you're so much more than that and you know that."

"what the heck do i know, Beomgyu?!" she screamed. "you know what hurts more? the fact that i didn't even hear from you. the fact that you didn't want me to hear and were just going to wait till you boarded that plane and watch my heart shatter to pieces." rain fell onto the girl, soaking her clothes. but she could care less about the rain right now.
