Lia's POV

It took me about 30 minutes to reach my parents house. Their house is pretty far from where Chaeryeong's parent's house are and where me and Chaeryeong stay.

If you're wondering, I left the house because I hated how my parents act towards Chaeryeong. I don't know why they're like that actually

I entered the house and saw mom and dad watching tv in the living room

"Where were you?" Mom asked me

"At Chaeryeong's parent's house, I told you on the phone a while ago" I said to her coldly

"Didn't we told you to stop seeing her?" Dad asked and raised a brow at me

"Why? Why can't I see her? What did she do to make you hate her that much?!" I asked, raising my voice at them.

"You really want to know?" my mom asked and I just looked at her. She handed me a folder and I opened it, it only left me in shock.

"Consider about it Julia, its either you continue to help her and stay here, or you'll do better to study for your own good" Dad said and I looked through the paper.

It was about my scholarship, it says that only if I'm able to be the top 1 among all of the students then I'll be able to study in the US. I've always wanted to study there and our family was known to be having the smartest students of all. I knew I would be ashamed if I wasn't able to join. My older brother got in and if I didn't, my family will look down at me.

"I..."

"You should decide now Julia, remember, we won't be helping you if you end up continuing to study here in Korea" Dad said and got up from the couch. He left to go to his room.

"If I were you Lia, break up with your girlfriend and focus on your studies. I can't believe that you two always end up in the same rank. You're being a disgrace to the family" Mom said and walked off to her room as well.

Studying in the US meant a lot to me, it would give me a lot of opportunities to reach my goal. How would I be able to tell Chaeryeong about this?

Chaeryeong's POV

I was sad that Lia had to leave tonight, I was expecting her to join us tomorrow at the mall and watch a movie but I guess her parents needed her at their place.

"Hey, thinking about something?" Chaeyeon unnie asked me as she entered my room

"Just about Lia unnie" I said and sighed. She sat down on my bed as I was seated on the chair by my study table.

"What about her?" she asked me

"Well, her parents doesn't seem to like me, is there something wrong about me that they don't like?" I asked unnie and her face showed me some kind of disgust

"What would they hate about you? you didn't hurt Lia, you never said bad things about her or them. I'm sure they're just jealous that Lia spends more time with you than with them" she said

"Maybe" I said to her softly

My mind was full of thoughts, why would they hate me? what could I've done that made them not like me and Lia unnie together

"Hey, just shrug it off. I'm sure it isn't a big thing they're talking about right now. You should go to bed since we're going out tomorrow" Chaeyeon unnie told me

"Okay then...." I said and stood up from my chair

"Goodnight Ryeong" she said and hugged me before leaving my room. Of course I texted Lia unnie goodnight before drifting off to sleep.
