It had been a long time coming, but the wedding date had finally arrived. The day they spent perfecting for a year. It was two years to the very date Hailee had mistakenly sent y/n a drunk text. Hailee wasn't going to let anyone find out that tiny detail. For now, the story was that it was their anniversary. Which technically was true.
Y/n thought it was cute. For the rest of their time together, y/n would get to remind her future wife of the most embarrassing moment in her life. While most people have aesthetically pleasing wedding dates or anniversaries, y/n thought it would be cute to have their date be the day their lives changed for better or worse. Luckily for HAilee, her number wasn't leaked like she feared and wasn't made fun of by the tabloids she had gotten the good end of the stick and gained a golden retriever fiance out of it. It was funny to think about the butterfly effect of that day and how that text could have had very different consequences had you not gotten it.
Even though they had opted to have a slightly different wedding than the norm there were a few old traditions and superstitions they stuck to. The main one being that the brides where to be apart leading up to the wedding. They weren't truly allowed to see eachother until their first looks. Hailee had wanted her wedding dress to be a surprise for y/n. She also was a little superstitious and wasn't trying to accrue any bad luck seeing y/n in her suit. Hailee had hit the lottery with y/n and was not willing to fuck around and find out right now. if y/n remembered right Hailee said "the last two years of my life have been some of the best in my life. I want to keep that going, so if it means us not seeing each other till a first look I will happily spend a morning without you."
So in an effort to keep her future wife happy y/n packed her things the night before and left to the nearest hotel. Hailee was going to need all the space in this house at the venue. Plus if y/n was at a hotel there was no way that y/n or Hailee could accidentally catch a glimpse of each other.
AT THE HOTEL.
One alarm. Two alarm. Three alarm. Out of maybe 10 went off. Realistically y/n didn't need all of these alarms but she was a heavy sleeper and Hailee woke her up anytime there was an event they needed to be up for. Hailee had always said no one wants to wake up to a nasty-sounding alarm she'd rather wake up to her partner's voice.
y/n being the golden retriever she was had each alarm set to HAilee's voice. All of them were a different voicemail recording left by Hailee when they were on opposite coasts. By the third encouraging "Good Morning my love Today's going to be a great day" y/n was fully awake and stretching.
Today is going to be a great day.
Today's the day!
She really was excited but y/n didn't sound very excited when she said it she sounded like she was going to be sick. Maybe it was a good thing she got up earlier than she needed to. It would certainly giver her time to work through her nerves.
Today is the day.
We'll be fine.
I just need to turn off all these alarms.
Get moving and I will be just fine.
Despite knowing HAilee wasn't lying in the bed next to her y/n was set in her routine. rolling over in bed to run her fingers down HAilee's face pushing whatever hair was in her eyes out of the way and eventually give her fiance a kiss. BUt when Y/n rolled over this morning she saw fully fluffed pillows and remembered that Hailee was back at the venue getting ready. Maybe she too had come to the same realization that y.n had.
