Hailee and y/n finished watching the Macy's Thanksgiving parade got dressed and headed to her parent's place to help cook their thanksgiving feast.

Knock Knock.

You guys where are you hiding at?

I need my hug from my cali parents.

Pete: WE'RE IN THE KITCHEN GUYS!

*looks at y/n* How bad do you think it's gonna be?

There's only one way to tell...

*walking into the kitchen* Oh *fans the air in front of her*

What did you do in here for it to be so smokey?

Cheri: Your dad didnt adjust where the rack was in the oven so the fat from the skin was hitting the heating element.

DId the turkey burn...

Pete: Thankfully it didnt the skin just got a crispy pretty early on. But I'm going to take that as my sign to leave the kitchen. I'll let you girls help mom.

Okay... You know I'm not much better than dad in the kitchen though.

Okay that's not totally true you have improved significantly since we started dating.

Cheri: I am thankful everyday for that.

Damn without missing a beat your roasting me.

Cheri: Just saying what I'm thankful for.

*looks at y/n*

Oh no don't you look at me I can't help you here.

mm hmm I'll remember that.

Well come on lets get something going before I get flamed for my cooking skills.

SO whats left to make?

Cheri: Well the turkey is in the oven. So we have to make the sides we usually do potatoes and stuffing. I was hoping to show you the family recipe for both.

I would be happy to learn the recipes *puts on an apron*

Cheri teaches y/n how to make the stuffing and potatoes the Steinfeld way. She unfortunately didnt learn the secret ingredients for the recipes Cheri made her look away. Part of y/n wanted to think the secret ingredient was a sprinkle of msg but in reality it was just carrots sliced really small. And it was a secret because y/n hates carrots.

Are those...

Yeah they are.

Why in the potatoes though?

You know I've never asked I think it was to get Griffin and I to eat veggies as kids and she just never stopped doing it.

Well if you say that those potatoes are good then I'll try them. Even though I don't like the carrots.

*kisses y/n* Thank you for being willing to try them.

You know they actually smell good I might actually like them.

Cheri: Alright you two love birds go ahead and set the table for dinner. I think Griffin just got here too so have him help you set the table too. And when you finish with that come back here and help me get al this food to the table.

Ok mom.

Are there special plates for today or?

No we just use the normal plates, we used to have a few nice ones we used but dad kept breaking them or chipping them in th edishwasher.

Oh I see.

Here you lay out the plates and I can put down the silverware.

HAilee and y/n set the table and put Griffin in charge of putting the glassware on the table. When they finish up they all go and help Cheri get the feast from the kitchen to the dining table where Pete does the honor of carving the turkey. Everyone serves themselves and Pete has everyone hold on for a second before eating.

Pete: Alright before you all dig into this wonderful meal that you gals made i'd like for us all to say what we're thankful for since it is Thanksgving after all.

So who is gonna go first?

Pete: I was actually going to start it off.

The floor is all yours Dad.

Pete: There's a lot to be thankful for this year. I'm thankful we're all able to be here for this dinner. I'm thankful for the new addition to our family its been wonderful having a new grandpup.

Pete: Ahh I'm just yanking your chain it's been lovely having you in the family y/n. You've made my little girl happier than shes been in a long long time.

Cheri: Well I guess that means it's my turn. I'm thankful your Father didn't burn the turkey this morning.

HAHAHA.

HA sorry Pete but that was a good one, you have to admit it.

Pete: Alright good one Honey.

I'm thankful for y/n it's no secret that you have been a major support for me this year. *nods to y/n*

I'm Thankful for all of you Pete, Cheri, Griffin you all welcomed me with open arms earlier this year.

And I have to say it's nice to be an honorary Steinfeld.

Griffin: I'm not trying to steal your thing sis but I'm thankful you found y/n because now I can pick another family members brain for ideas on my racing projects.

Sorry Griffin I know she's the girl of our dreams but shes all mine.

You can however borrow her on race days and event weekends if you fill out the right paperwork.

Woah woah hold on now I'm right here.

And I would totally go to those things without any paperwork.

Pete: You kids are to much.

But you wouldn't have it any other way.

Pete: No I wouldn't.

Hey can we eat now i'd hate to let the food go cold it smells so good.

The family all continue to enjoy the feast and conversate around the table. Somehow they managed to finish everything that was cooked for dinner.
