A/N
Sorry if this one is shorter than usual, but it is the cut half from the previous one (+ I got busy and it took forever to edit). Like I've said, I don't have that connection I used to have with the show because of Seabound, so it's harder to find motivation to write. It really did kill my mood, in hindsight.
Anyway, regarding the story, thank you for all the support so far. I hope I don't disappoint with the final product!
Enjoy <3.

It was only when he barged into the room that they realised their hands were touching. But, despite how fast he pulled away, he could never escape his gaze.
They were sitting close, but it was only to study the blueprints better. He had touched her cheek, but only to brush off a small stain that had been left by the grease.
And yet, the moment he came in, they scrambled to stand on their feet as if they had been caught doing something way, way worse.
Without saying a word, she waved him goodbye and walked out the door, her footsteps light, trying not to make any noise. The Captain looked at him blankly, then made his exit as well.
The next few hours were spent panicking. He was a pretty good swimmer, but even he couldn't survive down there all alone. Unless the Captain decided on a quicker death and grabbed that big sword of his that he always seemed to carry around.
For the rest of the day, not another soul appeared near him. And when the sun rose again, he skipped breakfast, lunch... His stomach grumbled, and it was only then that he remembered Nya's plate was still resting on his table.
Most of it had become cold and stale. But that didn't stop him from picking apart a few bites, for they were far better than him going up there. The pudding was still just as tasty, luckily.
They were bound to arrive at Stiix soon; he had heard Flintlocke say that from the upper deck. Just one more day, and he would be free. He'd run out and escape, never to be seen by pirates or kings ever again.
But then he heard a knock on his door, and he knew he wouldn't make it alive until then.

The map room really lived up to its name. Tons of them were folded up within countless barrels, with the largest one of them all being spread across the long, wooden table. However, a glass pane lay on top of it, and above that, an expensive, tasty meal.
He didn't dare take a bite. He, unfortunately, had experience with poisoned food, and he was not about to risk his life for some tasty pork.
His eyes followed the Captain as he paced around the room, his steps making the floorboards creak.
The door was locked. No one could save him.
"Jay, was your name?" he asked him all of sudden, making him jump.
He played with his fork, looking at the ground. "Yes, Captain."
"You know, Jay... I have been in your situation before."
His eyebrow raised. "What do you mean?"
"I know how hard it is to abandon a lavish lifestyle, to go somewhere where you're free from rules. But every place has them, even this one."
Luckily, his mouth was fast enough to change the topic. "You worked at a castle?"
"I was a prince. Djinnjago, if you've heard of it." He had. "I understand how it is for young men like you and I, forced to abide by rules set by oppressive rulers."
