A/N

After the recent season, I don't feel as good writing about this location. It no longer brings the comfort it used to, and tbh now I just associate it with the sad stuff from this season... It's a shame that it's been ruined for me, but oh well.

Anyway, this story is still heavily inspired by S6, so I still had to include it obviously. At least you'll get more cute moments here (I hope).

And also something else, I know I hate angst, but I hope that isn't affecting my stories... Like, you know, I hope they don't get boring with there not being a lot of sadness, because I've heard that being said about fluffy stories before. So... yeah.

Sorry for that long note.

Enjoy <3

Day One

She awoke slowly, but when she tried to breathe, her eyes snapped open. She coughed and coughed, trying to catch her breath. What she had inhaled was... sand.

It was quite harsh on her skin, in fact. She stood up, albeit a bit clumsily, shaking it off herself. Her dress was still soaked; she sighed at the sight.

Jay.

The realisation didn't take long to get to her. Stumbling on her first steps, she looked around frantically, calling his name.

It couldn't come to an end like that, she couldn't lose someone again, especially not him. What would she do? How would she even get back to her brother?

Maybe she was destined to die alone on a deserted island, after all...

... Or whatever that place was, anyway.

She saw a figure rise behind some boulders. They were rubbing their shoulder in pain.

As she approached, she felt guilty; guilty for feeling tingly at the panic that appeared in his eyes. Was he looking for her too? Was he worried? Did he miss her? Maybe he was just glad to have made it out alive.

Why would he even be thinking of her after almost dying? She internally cursed at herself for being so selfish.

His face finally relaxed when he locked eyes with her. He ran to her, tackling her in a tight hug.

He was even more soaked than she was, but she didn't care. He was freezing, and yet, she could still feel his warmth.

The embrace didn't last long, for he started to tremble. Even the blazing sun couldn't warm him.

"Are you okay?" he said.

"I should be asking you that."

The island they were on was oddly small. And yet, he was looking in the distance as if it were an entire kingdom.

She followed his gaze, her shock matching his.

Just after a set of rocky stairs lay a lighthouse. Even with the rising sun, it was easy to tell that its light was long broken, along with parts of its walls. Its paint was worn, its windows were all covered by cloth... Inside and out, it was abandoned.

She didn't let the sight get to her, ignoring the chills that ran down her spine. She turned to him, helping him up the first step.

"Come on, let's get you somewhere warm."
