A/N

There's an epilogue right after this y'all, remember to read it!!

Anyway, thank you so much for supporting this story. There is nothing that brings me more comfort than knowing that people actually enjoy my work.

And hey, if you liked the world building in this one, you'll love it in my original books ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°).

Enjoy <3

A few days had passed ever since the incident; well, if one could even call it that.

In that time, much had happened. Aside from the awkwardness of explaining the past four years to her brother, however... it went surprisingly smoothly.

Well, if you were to ignore the fact that she was about to be crowned a princess in front of hundreds of people in just a few hours.

She looked at herself in the mirror and frowned. Not that she didn't appreciate her sister-in-law's makeup skills, but she had never felt so out of place.

"I still can't believe Kai married a Queen," she said, half to herself and half to her.

The Queen, Skylor, smirked. "That's what surprises you? Not the fact that I killed my father?"

Nadakhan popped into her mind. "Not the first time I've seen someone want to do that."

She groaned as she fixed up her gown; silky, long, orange... it was undoubtedly beautiful. "Don't remind me. I have to deal with his crew now that he's gone. Thanks for that, by the way."

So she was right. "His crew is here?"

"Yeah, claiming that they want to trade and all... They've returned some of our stolen goods already," she said. "Jay said to trust them, so I guess I'm letting them stay for a few more days."

Her eyes widened slightly. "Jay?"

"What? Doesn't your boyfriend have a name?" she said and nudged her.

That was another thing about Skylor. For being this powerful, scary queen, she was as much of a chatterbox as Jay was. Unlike him, however, she tended to lean towards the teasing side.

It felt... odd to meet so many people at once the past few days. Surprisingly, out of all of them, Skylor was the one she became closest to.

Her cheeks flushed.

"It's going to go well with your dress," Skylor teased her, opening her closet to pull out a less extravagant (but equally as expensive), red gown. "You're shorter than me but we can make this work. I haven't worn this dress in years, anyway."

She plucked up the courage to face her. "No need to. I have a dress of my own."

Wearing the dress that he took the time to clean to her coronation... She smiled at the thought. It would be oddly symbolic.

"That Djinnjago one? You belong to The Dark Island now, you can't wear that."

"Oh... Is there another option then?"

She shoved the red dress into her arms. "On such a short notice, no."

As she finished putting it on (ignoring that it was a little tight in some departments...), a knock echoed in the room.

Neither of them got to open their mouths before Jay barged in the room. Before he could open his mouth, however, Skylor threw her pillow in his face.
