Chapter 22

After the dingo we went to the Nightly Double through the back fence. We sat down to watch some beach movie. "It's freezing, man." Ponyboy said rubbing his arms.

"Why didn't you bring a coat, stupid?" Dallas asked.

"Forgot it." Pony retorted as two soc chicks sat down in front of us. One had nice medium length red hair and one had shorter dark brown hair. They'd seemed to be angry at someone and I'm guessing it was their stupid soc boyfriends.

"Some cute red head huh?" Dallas asked with his classic Winston smirk. "Are you a real red head?" He said quite loudly in her ear. The other one giggled some. Soon he was asking her if she wanted something to drink and Johnny had left to get a coke. It was just a soda.

She whipped her head to the side and yelled, "Get lost hood!" Dally replied surprisingly calm, then just walked off. She whipped around already yelling, "You gonna start in on us too!?" She looked Ponyboy dead in the eye.

He looked directly back at her and said, "No." it was that simple. Just no.

"You don't look the type anyways." She then engaged in a full on conversation with him. Ugh. Johnny was sitting down just as she was asking about Sodapop. I hated her guts already. Dallas came back with his arms full of cokes and handed everyone one of them, even the soc girls. The dark haired one happily took it but the red head Sherri decided to throw all the contents in Dally's face. He only replied by trying to grab her and saying something about her being 'fiery' or something like that. She squirmed around desperately trying to escape his grasp and Johnny stood up.

"Come on just leave her alone, Dal." He said. God that took guts. Especially for Johnny. Dally glanced up angrily, said something, and left. To be perfectly honest I was shocked that Dally didn't bash his head in. Cherry was flirting away with Pony even though he was clearly trying to get her to stop when that brown haired broad asked them to come sit with them. And just like that Johnny was sitting up there with Ponyboy! Ugh!

I rolled my eyes. "Love you too Johnny!" I called getting up and walking off. He could be so stupid sometimes...
