Chapter 28

Previously:

Before I reached the door I thought I heard her move but I turned around and saw her laying as still as she had been the whole time. She was on life support so I figured it was just the machine and kept on going...it was over. Her life was over. I turned around and looked at my girlfriend one last time.

Then...Clearly, I heard her voice say, "Johnny wait..."

I turned around as fast as anyone could turn on crutches and looked at her. "Liv?!" I asked as if I imagined it all.

"Yeah." She said with her eyes still shut. I got over to her as fast as I could and she turned her head to look at me. "Is Ponyboy okay? What about Dallas?"

"Yeah their both fine. How do you feel?" I was astonished by the fact that she was even awake, never mind talking.

She yawned, "Where is everyone?"

"Home. I'll go get them. Okay?"

"Mmhm."

I looked at her, "I love you with all my heart." I said kissing her cheek.

"I love you too."

I told the doctor she was up on the way out, and then I started home to get the boys. It was difficult, being on crutches and all. I finally got into the house out of breath and yelled for everyone. "GUYS!! COME ON GET INTO THE TRUCK!! CLOVE IS AWAKE!!"

"She's awake!?" Pony and Soda asked at the same time.

"That's what I said! Now let's go!" I yelled. Everyone piled into the car and we drove back.

We asked the doctors about her condition right away. They told us she'd be fine, and that she'd be out in a few days, but they needed to keep her for now.

She smiled as we all walked into see her. Her smile was perfect. I want to see that smile for all of eternity, because I will love her for all of eternity. She's always been the one for me, I've known it from the start. She's going to get better, and then forever and ever, I will share my eternal love.
