The next morning I woke up in a bright room. The red curtains were opened and I could see outward towards the plaza of the city. I think I'm inside of Arthur's room. It was raining lightly outside, a mist. I saw flowers by the bedside with a note.
----------
"July 15th, 2025
You're as gorgeous as moonlight. You slept soundlessly. Take these flowers as a gift. I picked them personally from the florist market.
~Arthur"
----------
They were gorgeous orange, red, and yellow roses. The smell of them graced through the whole room. Inside of this room there were 2 other doors. The door on the left led to a pure white room that sounded like a piano was coming from it. If I remember correctly, that's Beethoven's classical piece 'silence'. Whoever was playing it has extraordinary talent. That isn't the easiest piece to play. His bed has a black canopy over it, with black sheets, black comforter, and white pillows. It's soft and super cozy. I could sleep in here all day. The feeling I was experiencing right now made me want to continue laying here, in these layers of cotton and silk.
I eventually stretched and sat up in his bed. The door to the balcony was opened letting in the cool breeze from the outside. The smell of the rain was lovely to be met with after arising from slumber. His room is by far the most gorgeous thing in this palace. He even had a diamond chandelier hanging off the ceiling.
I moved the covers off of me to find I still had my clothes on. I get up out of his bed and go to the balcony door and take in the fresh scent of rain. People were already in the local markets selling and buying goods. I then walked to the room where Arthur was in with the piano. I stood quietly at the entry listening to the powerful talent coming from his gentle fingers. I wonder where he learned this all from.
Suddenly the music stops.
He wore a white shirt and gray joggers. A window inside the room had a little bit of light peeking through. It had a gorgeous view over the city.
"Good morning beautiful" he got up and turned to me, the white shirt definitely brought out his facial features.
"Good morning" I managed to smile tiredly.
He walks over to me and takes my hand and kisses it "How did you sleep?"
I smile "I don't remember anything."
He laughs "Well rest assured clothes stayed on and no inappropriate touching happened."
I laugh with him "Glad to know I still have some class."
He kisses my hand again "You've always had class" he gently kisses me "do you like the flowers?"
I hug him to embrace what little warmth his body can give off "I love the flowers, they are beautiful."
He kisses me again "You're up earlier than what I expected."
"What time is it?"
He looks at his watch "5:49am."
My mouth drops "I'm up super early."
He smiles "Even as soon as you wake up, you're as beautiful as the sunrise."
I giggle "I'm surprised my clothes are still on."
He sighs "Elena, I'm from the 1500's where we like to agree on those interactions. In my 520 years I've probably slept with about 3 long-term partners. Those relationships lasted maybe 100 years to 150 years each. I didn't start dating until I turned 30 in 1534. In the end those 3 relationships weren't meant to last. Plus, I don't believe in sleeping with people unless you know their middle name."
