Betrayal Becomes Revenge

I walked down the hallway towards the staircase. I was wearing gray leggings, a leather jacket, yellow heels, and a yellow strapped shirt. I like to do this thing every Tuesday, where I go to Arthur and I tell him I love him and I want to stop my arranged marriage. He usually shuts me up by giving me lemon peppered crab legs then rubs my back and tells me he's got this huge master plan.

As I neared toward the end of the hallway I saw general David "Good day your, majesty!"

I curtseyed "Good morning, General David!"

"Have you heard from King Miguel?"

I bite my lip "No?"

He gave me a golden envelope then turned on his heels to leave.

"Dear royals of Persiania and Kingstone. Today (August 12th, 2025) I'd like to announce the royal masquerade ball (August 20th, 2025). The royal ball is to announce the engagement of my daughter Princess Elena and Chief Jacob of Kingstone. The wedding will be held May 1st, 2026 four days before her birthday and coronation followed by their honeymoon May 7th. So come one and all to our annual and traditional engagement ball. I look forward to seeing masks, suits, and ballroom dresses.

I burn the paper in my hand. It turns to ash and sweeps into the air. I walk down the stairs enraged by my fathers letter to continue and celebrate an engagement I wish not to have.

Arthur walks up behind me "Good morning, Princess."

"Hello, Arthur."

"What are you up to?"

I sigh "Laps...I'm bored."

"I'm joining...I'm bored" he smiles and wraps an arm around my waist "So do you do this in Persiania?"

I smile "Yes, except in the morning I run around the city to get my cardio in."

"So you're quite the active type?"

"I believe in maintaining my health and stamina. Lord only knows when I have to whoop someone back into their place."

I smile as we walk down the staircase to a bunch of commotion. Guards are holding back a wavy brown haired, blue eyed, and pale woman with black pants, a blue top, and strappy black heels. I looked at Arthur concerned and his eyes were huge like he knew exactly who it was. I had a feeling this wasn't going to end nicely.

She ran towards Arthur and jumped in his arms "Babe! I've missed you so much!"

He tried pushing her off "What are you doing here! I told you we're over two years ago! Stop coming back begging for me!"

She kissed him "Oh no, stop fooling the girl!"

I stood there angry, confused, and betrayed. He lied to me after wanting every bit of the truth. I smile angrily, understanding my parents were right. He used me.

"Who are you?" I asked

She smiled "You must be the bitch he's been cheating on me with."

I look at her confused "Who are you?"

"I'm Brianna, his fiancée."

I look at Arthur so angry "You're a backstabbing liar!" I began to walk down the stairs opening a portal.

Arthur tries to grab me "Elena! Don't leave it isn't what it looks like!"

I turn around "Oh really! It's not! Then how the hell are you still engaged?" I asked with tears in my eyes.

"Elena, she's my ex! She's been coming back periodically begging for me back! Elena, please don't go!"

"This is what you've been hiding from me!" I smack his face and finish walking to the portal.

As I walk through the portal all of my stuff from Rolumpus is transported back into my Persianian bedroom. Camille hears a loud noise in my bedroom after I knock my wardrobe over and comes in locking the door seeing my angry wet eyes.

"What's wrong?"

I dropped to the floor crying "He lied!"

She holds me in her arms "Hey, it's ok. Just calm down. Count to ten."

I start kicking and screaming "Don't count to ten, me!" I cry even more as she tries to hold me still.

I feel so numb. All the pain and thoughts I've had bottled up for the longest time, is actually very true.

I sigh "I have to go on with it."

"What do you mean?"

I stand up and wipe my tears "I'm going through with the wedding. That's my only choice now. I have to marry Jacob" I storm out of my room and walk down to my fathers office "We need to talk."

He looked scared "Is everything ok?"

"Don't worry about it.'

He sighed "You're home early."

"I had to leave."

"Why?"

"I-" I hesitated, I can't get Arthur's name out of my mouth "I love Rolumpus but this is my home and I missed it."

He smiled "Why are you here?"

"I'll marry Jacob-"

"Finally-"

"On one condition."

"What?"

"After the wedding you have absolutely no say over me. My husband has complete say."

"Deal."

I feel relieved "The only reason I'm home is because I'm hurt."

He stands up from his chair and hugs me "I know...but your home and you're safe."

I walk out of his office and open a portal, and one of the guards stops me "Princess! Don't! He's dangerous!"

"He's a resource, I'll be fine." I jump through the portal.

I enter a very dark room with black curtains everywhere. A small fire in the fireplace with a big black pit-bull dog laying beside it.

"We meet again, Elena?" I'm met with perfect white teeth, straight black hair, and brown eyes "I sense you're angry."

"I know I'm angry" I frown.

"Did your King fail you?"

"Sadly..."

He stood up from his chair and kissed my hand "Splendid to see you again."

"Sure" I rolled my eyes.

He gave me puppy eyes "Why so cold?"

I yelled "I hate life! I hate dad! I hate Arthur! I hate Brianna! I hate you!"

He grins "Why didn't you pull her hair? Beat the shit out of her?"

I glare "I..."

He smiles reassuringly "I understand he's hurt you."

I rub my arm "You didn't do much better."

"Poor Elena!" he hugs me.

I pushed him off "Stop, we're not together no more."

He smiles "I'm not like Arthur, he lost your trust."

"So did you!"

He grins "Then why are you here?"

I sigh and sit down by Bruno, his pit bull "I need revenge."

"You came to the right person" he played with an orb in his hands "just say the words Elena."

"Alistar, help me."

"As you wish" he grins.
