I began thinking what my life has a potential of looking like after the wedding when Jacob and I marry. It couldn't be completely horrible...maybe delightful.
----------
I sit in my dressing room and inhale deeply, scared and worried.
My father walks in "Alright, show time. Time to put on those lovely smiles and get married!"
I stand up and my dress moves gracefully with me. We're inside of the only werewolf chapel in Persiania. My father decided it would be sacred since Jacob and I are both wolves. The doors open and that stupid classic wedding song plays. Dum-dum-dum-dum....
I stand still, paralyzed and scared. Worried. I walk down the aisle and lock eyes with Jacob. The sadness in his eyes makes me dread this. What is the worst possible thing that could happen if I run now?
The ordain says "Please be seated" and smiled "we're all here today to celebrate the relationship of Princess Elena Willow Adolpha-Delvaux of Persiania and Chief Jacob Parker Adolpha of Kingstone and to be witnessed by friends, family members, and supporters of the commitment they share with one another. Chief Jacob and Princess Elena wanted me to thank you all for being here today to celebrate their unity as one. Of the important people in their lives that have influenced them growing as a person we'd give great thanks to their parents. With that being said, who gives Princess Elena away in marriage to this man?"
My father stood up and smiled "Her mother and I."
"A good marriage is built on the foundation of commitment. The road that has brought Princess Elena and Chief Jacob here today hasn't been easy. It's been filled with challenges that they weren't necessarily prepared for. But together they've taken each one on and have used those experiences to strengthen, not weaken their love. Princess Elena and Chief Jacob have agreed to skip their vows."
I sigh and he rubs my hand with his thumb "I'm sorry..."
The ordain smiles "Princess Elena and Chief Jacob will now exchange rings to symbolize their commitment. Rings are derived from humble beginnings of imperfect metal to create something striking where there was once nothing at all. It is customarily worn on the ring finger with a vein running directly to the heart. The wearing of the rings is a visible, outward sign that they have committed themselves to one another " Diane walks down the aisle with Ezekiel, the ring bearer "Chief Jacob, please take Princess Elena's hand and repeat these words. I give you this ring, as a symbol of my love."
"I give you this ring, as a symbol of my love."
"For today and tomorrow, and for the days to come."
"For today and tomorrow, and for the days to come."
"Wear it as a sign of what we have promised on this day."
"Wear it as a sign of what we have promised on this day."
"And know that my love is present."
"And know that my love is present."
"Even when I am not."
"Even when I am not" Jacob places the ring on my finger.
The ordain clears his throat "Princess Elena, please take Chief Jacob's hand and repeat these words" he smiles "I give you this ring, as a symbol of our love."
"I give you this ring, as a symbol of our love."
"Even when I am not" I put the ring on his finger and fake a smile.
The ordain closes his book "Princess Elena and Chief Jacob, you have professed your love. You have symbolized your commitment by exchanging rings. With all of this there is just one more question I need each of you to answer. Chief Jacob, do you take Princess Elena to be your wife; to live together in the covenant of marriage? Do you promise to love her, comfort her, honor and keep her, in sickness and in health; and, forsaking all others, be faithful to her as long as you both shall live?"
Jacob sighs "I do."
The ordain looks at me "Princess Elena do you take Chief Jacob to be your husband; to live together in the covenant of marriage? Do you promise to love him, comfort him, honor and keep him, in sickness and in health; and, forsaking all others, be faithful to him as long as you both shall live?"
I looked around the ceremonial room and saw that there is nothing stopping me from saying "I do". I look at my father as he's sitting practically at the edge of his seat getting ready to fall off his chair.
