Clayton's POV

Soon after she fell asleep I slid out of bed, knowing she would sleep deeply after the long day she had. I slipped out of the house and gathered the members of my pack. It was time for our meeting with the Moon Goddess. We met out back of the pack house and all shifted into our wolves. I nodded when all of us were completely shifted, signaling for them to follow me and we began at a fast paced run towards a pond at the center of the 3 packs we were training for the upcoming war. We arrived at the small pond with the full moon reflecting perfectly in the still water. Everyone gathered around. I was first to go in. I stepped in and swam straight down once I reached the moons reflection, coming up at the other side where the moon goddess was waiting. It always made me dizzy, feeling like I was doing a flip in the water.

Her land was a bright heavenly garden where the Goddess always stayed. She rarely traveled outside her gardens, namely for her safety. The rest of my pack arrived shortly after I did and we all sat in a semi-circle with our heads bowed, still in our wolf forms.

"You may rise my sons. What have you learned?" She asked. There was a knowing twinkle in her eyes as she stared directly at me. I looked up but not into her eyes for it was a sign of disrespect unless she formally offered.

"My Goddess, you were right. I found my mate. She is more beautiful than I thought and she didn't reject me!" I claimed excitedly. "We also learned of an attack that will be coming to threaten the life of the Silver Mist pack. We have prepared the rest of their sister packs as well and all are now ready for the war, though we are not sure when it will happen."

"These rogues are unlike any you have been up against before, powerful, blood thirsty creatures. Not of my making. I would like for them to be exterminated but it is not for us to do. The packs are well prepared and I have seen visions telling me the outcome of the war. There will be no need to worry." The loving twinkle never left her eye and we knew we were lucky when she came into power. It had only been a few years since the Goddess before her was dropped down from power to live the rest of her life with her mate and she appointed a wonderful women by the name of Stormy to be the new Goddess. Though to hear Stormy's side of things, it had been decades and the world had fallen into despair. She was every bit as powerful and wise as the goddess before her. We bowed our heads and began to head back the shallow pool.

"And Clayton. The time is upon you to reveal yourself to your mate. You can trust her, though it may take her a while to adjust. Be patient with her, she will not reject you. You will also have a decision to make together. You can either bring her here to live among our kind, or give up your immortality, and stay with her on Earth. Take all the time you need my son. Just remember that once the decision is made, it cannot be changed. Should she choose to stay, her family can visit but only once a year, and while she will be immortal like you, her family will not."

I nodded and went back through the pool and headed back to the Silver Mist pack house, sliding into bed without waking Beth and fell into a deep slumber. That night I dreamt about Beth, what she would say, and how I would reveal myself. I could only hope things went smoothly.
