"Come on and get in the car." Clayton's mom, Claire, calls to me as he kisses me goodbye in the morning.
"Have fun. I love you." He tells me as he closes me into the car.
"Where to first?" I ask and Claire just grins.
"First, we get some food with some very lovely ladies. I am starving, I don't know about you." She says as she pulls out of the driveway and down the road. She takes me to a small café called Joe's Coffee House and we enter to come to a table of women already seated and a waitress taking drink orders.
"Beth will want a sweet tea, and..." I hear one of them say and Claire pipes up.
"And I will have a coffee, black with sugar." She says. The waitress nods and heads off to get our orders.
I on the other hand am too shocked and who ordered my drink to speak for a moment before I run over and tackle her out of her chair.
"MINNIE OH MY GOD HOW ARE YOU HERE I MISSED YOU AND I DIDN'T EVEN GET TO SAY GOODBYE I WAS SO DISAPPOINTED OH MY GOD!" I squeal as she wraps me into a hug too and we both cry happy tears.
"I missed you too. I am sorry I couldn't tell you anything, I had to let it be a surprise." She tells me as we get up from the floor.
I recognize Joe from the warriors who helped train the pack and he comes over, helping both me and Minnie up before wrapping her in a hug and giving her a peck on her cheek. She blushes deep red and the puzzle pieces finally click into place.
"YOUR MATED!" I shout and the women around us laugh.
"You are too, but we aren't here to talk about me, we are here to talk about you! Wait." She sniffs the air and then sniffs around me.
"Beth." She says, emphasis on the e in my name. "You are pregnant?!"
"Yeah, we just found out. Apparently it happens really fast for alpha couples." I say, a deep blush coating my cheeks.
"Honey! We are gonna be an auntie and uncle!" she calls back to the kitchen.
"That's fantastic!" Joe yells back and after a few more hugs we all sit down to order breakfast and eat.
After breakfast, Minnie, Sasha, Claire and I all go shopping and out to lunch. We find some decorations for the house that I fell in love with from local artists. Everything here was local and given the time everyone has had to practice their professions; I feel like I won the lottery. We also find some really cute clothes and shoes and jewelry.
"I know being mated is like marriage, but I still want a wedding, I think. I wonder if Clayton would be opposed." I say aloud as we look at some rings in a case next to some necklaces and earrings.
"I don't see why not, his father and I married after all." Claire says beside me.
"Lucy, can she try on this one?" she says to the woman behind the counter. She points out a beautiful rose gold ring with intricate leaves made from the same rose gold and several small purple stones set in small flowers. Its so beautiful and I catch a look at the price tag. Before my jaw can hit the counter, Claire slips it onto my ring finger and admires it.
"Beautiful in its own right, but not quite right." She says.
"We also have it in a blackened tungsten with green jewels, or a silver with blue stones." Lucy says.
"What about a rose gold with green stones?" she asks.
"We can make it custom, but don't have that combination made currently." She says with a sad smile.
