Clayton's POV
The ride back home was quiet and my beautiful mate had fallen asleep not 5 minutes after getting in the car, and the drive home was only 10 minutes long. I had offered to take her home after she had gotten sick but my mother said she would take care of it, and Beth was much better as the night went on. I parked the car, carefully opened the door and picked Beth up to carry her inside. She nuzzled into me and sighed happily. I kicked the door closed and opened the door inside. I dropped her purse and my keys on the table next to the door and went straight upstairs, laying her gently on our bed. After I got changed, I picked out her shorts and a tank top for her to sleep in, then took off her shoes and dress. I sniff, and she smells slightly different.
-Wow you really are stupid aren't you? – my wolf chimes in
- What is that supposed to mean? – I ask, heat in my voice.
-She already knows. You didn't hear her talking to your mom earlier did you? -
"You know already, don't you?" She asked, her voice a whisper as her eyes began to water.
-PAY ATTENTION! She looks upset now idiot. – my wolf scolds me.
I shook my head and regained my thoughts. "When did you find out?"
"When I met your mother in the bathroom. She kind of schooled me in alpha and god pregnancies in the bathroom." She said, slowly sitting up.
"This is fantastic! Although I would have preferred to be married before we had pups, but this is perfect. We are starting a family," I was so excited I was practically bouncing on the bed. I sat down and gently laid her back, then proceeded to rub her stomach and kiss it.
"So, you're not mad? This is a good thing, right?" She asked nervously. I could see the excitement in her eyes but the rest of her seemed unsure if I was being truthful or not.
"This is a very good thing, Darlin. I promise I will be here every step of the way. We can set up the nursery and go shopping and I will be at every doctor appointment and ultrasound. I wonder how many there are?" I say.
I kiss her tummy and she giggled in the most adorable way. I then realized she was in a bra and panties, and my mind went to other activities we could do as I kissed up her tummy, past her breasts to her lips and her giggles turn to a soft moan.
"Honey, tomorrow. I need to let my body recuperate from our marathon earlier and I just ate. I don't want to throw up again." She tells me, even though her eyelids are half lidded with lust and her breathing has already become slightly shallower.
"You are right." I tell her and help her to dress in her pajamas as we settle into bed.
"Dinner was really good though, and I think things went well with your parents. They are so nice." She tells me as she gets under the covers and snuggles down into them. I go to the bathroom to brush my teeth and a moment later she is right next to me doing the same.
"They do like you, and I know things are going fast. How are you coping with the changes?" I ask her seriously.
"It is a lot of change in a week. I feel excited but also scared, and like I am dreaming or having an out of body experience." She tells me.
I rinse and spit after brushing and turn to look at her.
"We are in this together Beth. A team, and what ever you need just tell me. I will do what ever I can to help you settle in and we have all the time in the world to spend our lives together. Now that the training is done, we are island bound for a while, and unless something major happens, we can focus on us for now." I tell her as I stand behind her, wrapping my arms around her and peppering her neck with kisses.
She grabs my arms and smiles at me in our reflection before turning in my arms and giving me a kiss. I pick her up and carry her back to bed, ready to get a good night's sleep for the first time in over a week.
"What is going through your mind right now?" she asked, playing with my hair as I gently rubbed and kissed her stomach, my head resting on her chest.
"I am excited, nervous, and ready. I think we will be great parents and I hope we have a son. I guess I am thinking about everything right now. I know we are set financially; the nursery won't take long to put together and I guess my biggest concern is just making sure you are happy and healthy and have what you need. That reminds me, I need to arrange a couple things for the next couple days." I tell her.
"Oh? Like what?" This had piqued her curiosity...
"You will see." With that I kissed her tummy again then her lips and we tucked into bed.
She flipped over a little grumpy and kept her back to me. I played with her hair and rested my arm over her side, I knew she was a little ticked because I didn't tell her what I was planning.
- Slayter, I want to plan a proposal for Beth but it has to be special. Is the waterfall cleaned up like I asked?" -
-Yes sir. You're finally going to do it huh? Congrats man, pick a day yet for proposing?" -
- Don't tell anyone yet, I was going to have a party to do that tomorrow afternoon, the proposal tomorrow night, and then the day after, Sasha can get Lily and Zoe and Maddie together and they can all go shopping.-
-Sounds like a plan boss. I'll let Sasha know.-
I closed the link and soon fell asleep with my beautiful mate and growing pup tucked safely in my arms.
