CHAPTER 11

Miko's POV

"I frequently witness... people eating those delicious things called sweets or candy," Ei said.

Here I am, still wandering around this enormous castle with Ei. Well , following her conversation with her sister, she showed me around her property. My feet hurt, but it's worth it to walk with her and talk with her after such a long time.

"It's called sweets, but we call it candy or dessert," I said.

"Does it truly taste good? It makes me drool or want to try it sometimes, but I'm a vampire," she chuckled.

"It tastes absolutely amazing," I remarked. Pfft, now I'm sorry; she has the look of a lost, sad puppy. "I'm sorry if that made you jealous," I laughed.

I pity the vampires; all they can taste is someone else's blood, or just the blood of a living creature. When they eat human food, they can't taste it...just it's blunt, tasteless stuff. I was informed of this because of my friends at the time. So every time I eat anything delicious, I usually hide it from them because I feel bad.

"It's fine," she chuckled. 

Ei led me to their garden, which was very lovely and bright. "This was my favourite place," she said. The garden was filled with those gorgeous blue luminous flowers, as well as some sakura trees. I have a feeling this garden is where they go to relax.

"Was?"

"I...lost Scaramouche here," she said. "We had the fight here, I said some cruel words that I didn't mean to say, it hurt him a lot, and that's why we're not that...close,"

Oh, right. She has a bad relationship with her younger brother. But the look in Scaramouche's eyes whenever he made eye contact with Ei back then. It's as if he wants to say something, as if he wants to talk to Ei, but he just hesitates.

"I can die at any time, Miko," she chuckled. "And if I did, my greatest regret will be that I didn't get to apologize to him and tell him how much I love him and grateful having a younger brother like him,"

I took her hand in mine and pulled her closer to me. I couldn't bear it when she says she can die at any time and not on my watch. I'm not going to let her die with any regrets; in fact, I'm not going to let her die at all.

"You will not die. You got that? I'll make you guys reconcile, that is if you're ready. "

She smiled at me, then took my hand in hers and placed it on her cheek, kissing it, making me blush. How can she do it with such a smug expression on her face?!

"Does my beautiful human have a plan?" she said, smiling.

This height difference is so annoying, yet it somehow makes Ei look so much sexier.

"Since when was I your human?" I teased.

"Hmm, starting...now?" she grinned.

Oh, the arrogant expression on her face. I can't stop myself from kissing her. What? Kiss... her? Why on earth would I kiss her? What in the world.... Miko, you've already moved on from her!

"Cat got your tongue?" she chuckled as she drew me closer and wrapped her arms around my wrist. "Do friends... do this?"

Is she... hinting me something?

"I'm not sure, you tell me," I murmured.

This physical touch is driving me insane! How does she manage to look so perfectly normal?!

"Hmm, I should try this with someone at school and ask them," she said with a smile.

"What?!"

Oh my goodness, I didn't intend to shout. But how could she say such a thing?! Is she truly unaware that you can't do this to just anyone?! Even if they are friends of yours?

"Is there something wrong, Miko?"

I swear to you... Her teasing voice is very sexy! Miko, focus!

"J-just don't do this with just anyone,"

"And why is that, would you mind explaining?"

"You o-only do this with your... special person,"

"What.... kind of special person, Miko?"

Her alluring voice. Miko, stay focused and in control.

"Y-your lover,"

"Ah, your lover," she whispered as she unwrapped her arms from around my waist. "I see, we're not lovers, are we? 'm sorry for my hasty behavior," she added, and... I can't do this; I have still not moved on from her.

I pulled her to me and hugged her tightly without saying anything, and she did the same. She just hugged me back, softly caressing my back, as if she was trying to console me with her touch alone. I... I had just fooled myself when I said I haven't moved on from her. I thought I had moved on from her, but I haven't yet. My feelings... It didn't go away, it just got buried deep in my heart.

"What's wrong, Miko? Is there something bothering you?" she asked softly.

"It's just... there's something I want to tell you," I said as I turned to face her. "Which I... withheld from you... for months,"

"Do tell me, Miko,"

I took a deep breath and turned to face her again.

I will now confess everything.
