CHAPTER 5.5: FIVE'S ARRIVAL
NOVEMBER 25th, 1963 Five fell into a puddle, rolling over onto his side. He grunted, standing up. The time travel had taken a lot out of him. He felt tired and dizzy. He looked up at the blue, electric cloud above him, waiting for the others to come through. "Nadine!" He screamed, putting his hand out at the cloud.
"Diego!" His eyes widened as the portal closed. That's when he heard the gunfire. He turned around in shock, trying to figure out where the sound was coming from. He noticed the exit to the alley he was in and walked towards it. Fire. Guns. A tank?
Soldiers ran towards the enemy, whoever that was, getting shot and falling back. A tank rolled, firing. Two jets flew through the air above him, dropping bombs. Buildings exploded and lit on fire.
Five looked to the right and saw a newspaper stuck in a pile of broken bricks. "Soviets Attack US?" He read the headline, looking up at the chaos surrounding him. "No, this can't be right." Five whispered to himself as he stood up. Soldiers were holding onto civilians, keeping them safe — or trying to — and hidden. A Russian soldier shouted something and started firing. "Hey kid, get down!" A soldier yelled at him.
"What the hell did we do now?" Five muttered to himself, staring at the battle. A large explosion went off beside him making him fall to the side, the tank firing at something in front.
Vanya? The girl floated in the air and put her hands out, destroying the bullet as it got closer to her. Five looked to the side of her and saw someone else.
Klaus. The man put his hands up and pushed, an army of ghosts chasing and going after people. A loud rumble caught Five's attention.
Luther. The bigger man jumped in front of Klaus as a man shot a bazooka at him, taking the shot to his back. He screamed out in pain, looking at Klaus for a second before looking to a building beside them.
Ben!? Five watched as the spirit picked people up with his tentacles, throwing them around. "Hey!" A shout caused him to turn.
Allison. The woman put her hands out and smirked. "I heard a rumor that I blew your minds." He watched as the heads of the men dissolved where they stood. Soldiers ran towards a car that was flipped upside down, someone was standing on top of it.
