Bad Moon Rising
~ Creedence Clearwater Revival

"I hear hurricanes a-blowin'
I know the end is comin' soon
I fear rivers over flowin'
I hear the voice of rage and ruin

Don't go around tonight
Well it's bound to take your life
There's a bad moon on the rise, alright

Hope you got your things together
Hope you are quite prepared to die
Looks like we're in for nasty weather
One eye is taken for an eye"

CHAPTER 7: HAVEN'T THE SLIGHTEST

"Of course dad would be involved in the assassination. I should've known." Diego stated while gritting his teeth. Fives feet stomped as he paced around the room. "No, you're jumping to conclusions." The boy spoke, denying his theory.

Nadine yawned. It had been two months since she stopped eating dessert at dinner. Two months of people coming in to her room while she was sleeping. She couldn't stop thinking about it. What did they want with her and Eli?

"What else is he doing standing on the grassy knoll, holding an open black umbrella on a sunny day in Dallas the exact same moment the president gets shot!?" Diego screamed, breaking Nadine out of her thoughts. She stood straight and walked behind Five, pulling on his shoulder slightly to bring him a step back. "It doesn't look good, I admit." Five responded, shrugging his shoulders. "No, he's the signalman for the whole goddamn thing." Diego accused, glancing at the screen.

"Easy, Diego. Seriously." Five moved forward slightly, pulling Nadine along with him. "No, it makes sense. This is what Hazel was obviously trying to tell you. We have to stop dad from killing the president."

Nadine poked her tongue into her cheek as she rolled her eyes. "That's mighty ambitious, even coming from you." She commented. "Yeah, Diego, calm down, all right? Dad was no Boy Scout, but presidential assassination? It's never been his thing." Five spoke firmly about it and shook his head.

"How would you know? You skipped out on his golden years."

The girl raised an eyebrow and scoffed at the man's words. "Skipped out?" Five questioned, his eyes growing wider. "You think I had it easy, Diego? I was alone for 45 years." Nadine exhaled and closed her eyes tightly.

"You know what? We don't have the time for this right now. Dad's clearly in Dallas, right? Let's just go talk to him." Five turned around, going towards the door. "Maybe he can help us fix the timeline."

The witch grimaced and shook her head. "I have a feeling there's gonna be no fixing this timeline." Wren spoke from beside her. Nadine nodded in agreement before turning back to them.
