Zoey Deeks

Shot

Deeks woke up and looked around. At first he didn't know where he was but when he saw Kensi sleeping, he remembered he was in the bullpen. He looked at his watch and saw it was 6am. Deeks decided to get coffee from a coffee shop down the street from him and Kensi. He quietly stood up and walked out of the bullpen. He walked down the street and walked into the coffee shop. He ordered two coffees and while he was waiting, a man wearing a black mask came in. Deeks looked at him and he looked at the mans hands and saw he was holding a gun. Deeks pulled out his gun and before he could say or do anything, he was shot.

*At ops*

Kensi woke up and looked around. She noticed that Deeks was gone. She looked over at Zoey and she was still sleeping. Kensi got back to work and continued reading the files. Callen and Sam walked in and looked at Kensi who was focused.

"Morning" Callen and Sam said.

Kensi looked up and gave a small smile.

"Morning"

"Are those the same clothes you had on yesterday?" Sam said

"Can't a girl wear the same clothes more than once?"

Sam put up his hands in defence and Callen looked Zoey.

"Kens, did you stay here all night?"

"No, why would you think that?"

"Well, your wearing the same clothes from yesterday and Zoey is asleep on the couch"

Kensi said nothing and continued her work. Zoey woke up and rubbed her eyes. She saw her family and stood up. Kensi, Sam and Callen looked at her. They shared good mornings and hellos. Zoey walked over to Kensi and sat on her lap. She rested her head on her shoulder and yawned.

"Where's daddy?"

"I don't know"

"I'm hungry"

Before Kensi could say anything, Hetty walked into the bullpen with a sad expression.

"Deeks has been shot" Hetty said with sadness.

Callen and Sam looked at Kensi and Zoey who looked worried and sad.

"How is he?" Kensi asked.

"He's in surgery. We do know any more"

Kensi looked at Zoey who looked worried. Zoey didn't completely understand what was happening but she knew something bad happened to her father.

"I'll go to the hospital, Zoey, you stay here with Uncle Callen and Sam" Kensi said to Zoey.

"No. I'm coming with you"

"Zoey. I don-"

"No mommy. I'm coming"

"Okay" Kensi sighed.

Kensi and Zoey stood up and walked out. At the hospital, Kensi and Zoey were sitting, waiting and hoping for good news. Zoey looked at Kensi and was about to say something but then looked away. Kensi saw her at the corner of her eye.

"What's wrong?"

"Is daddy going to be okay?"

"Yeah. He's strong and brave, just like his little princess"

Zoey smiled and looked away.

Suddenly Kensi saw Deeks being pushed through the door. Kensi stood up and picked up Zoey and ran towards the doctors and nurses.

"How is he?" Kensi asked

"Gunshot wound to the abdomen but he's going to be fine"

They walked into the room and Kensi sat on the chair and Zoey sat on her lap. Kensi looked at Zoey and she was looking at her father confused and worried.

"He's going to be fine" Kensi said.

"What happened to him?"

"The man that you saw, he shot daddy"

Zoey gasped and looked at Deeks. After a few hours of waiting in the hospital room, Deeks started to wake up.

"Am I dead?"Kensi and Zoey heard.

The girls looked at Deeks and when they saw that he was awake, they stood up and got closer to him.

"Hey, how are you feeling?"

"I got shot" Deeks sighed.

"Wait, who are you?" Deeks asked.

"Deeks, I-" Kensi said as she looked around for a nurse.

"Don't worry, I remember you princess"

"Do you always have to do that when you get shot?"

"Yes" He said as he took off his oxygen mask.

"Hi daddy" Zoey said.

"Hey princess"

"Are you okay?"

"Yes I am" Deeks said as he sat up.

A nurse walked in and looked at Deeks.

"How are you feeling Mr Deeks" The nurse asked

"I'm sore but I'm good...Nurse uh- Linda" Deeks said as he looked at name tag.

Nurse Linda smiled at him and wrote down something and walked out. Deeks smiled at her as she walked away. Deeks looked at Kensi who looked angry.

"You're married with a daughter and you still hit on nurses" Kensi said angrily.

"But no nurse will ever replace you" Deeks said as he tried to make up for his mistake.

Kensi rolled her eyes and looked away. Kensi's phone started ringing, she looked down and saw it was Callen. Kensi answered it and after a few seconds, she ended the call.

"Callen and Sam need me at the crime scene"

"Okay. Zoey can stay with me"

"Be careful"

"You too"

Kensi kissed Deeks and kissed Zoey's head. Kensi walk out and Deeks lifted Zoey and put her on the bed.
