"Stark", welcomes me a voice coming from the darkness of the room. As the dark figure gets closer to the light I see a man with a black eye patch.

"Who are you?", I ask furrowing my brows.

"My name is Nick Fury, director of S.H.I.E.L.D.", he says looking me in the eyes.

"And what do you want from me?", I ask confused.

"Our world is in constant danger as you know, but S.H.I.E.L.D is not enough to protect it. I created an initiative, the Avengers initiative, and I want you to be a part of that", he says without loosing the eye contact.

I don't know if I can trust him and I don't really enjoy the idea of working for the government.

"Well I'm sorry, but I dont wanna join your secret boy band", I reply just wanting him to get out of here at this point.

"I knew you'd say that, so I brought some help", he says directing his look to something or someone behind me.
I turn around and I immediately freeze.

This can't be real.

The girl in front of me is like a vision from the past and immediately a thousand of questions show up in my head.

Cameron is still alive, she's been all this time.

Her dark brown hair are short and wrapped in a ponytail. She seems to be happy, but her dark eyes lost the light that they used to have when she was a kid.

She's wearing a dark blue suit, it's like a combat suit with some sort of black belt on her waist with a red hourglass symbol in the center.

The last time I saw her she was five and now she must be over her twenties.
All I want to do now is hug her, but I can't even find the words to say 'Hi'.

"Dad", she whispers before running to give me a hug.

"I've missed you so much", I whisper in her ear.

"I love you 3000", she says making my heart melt. After almost twenty years she still remembers this.

The first time she said that was one week after I first met her. I was still figuring out how to be a father and from that moment we became inseparable.

She managed to change my life when she was only four and then I lost her for years.

I want to ask her what happened, I want to know where she has been all this time, but now I just need to enjoy this moment, hugging her like to delate all those years without being together hoping not to loose her again.

Senate hearing

It's been hours since the hearing began. Rhodey showed up a while ago and he still didn't manage to convince the senator.

"Alright, let's welcome the S.H.I.E.L.D. agent Christine Sullivan", the senator says making everyone turn around.

The photographers start going crazy and I also decide to turn. As I do it I remain wordless.

What is Cameron doing here?

After our "reunion" we decided to keep the fact that she was my daughter hidden to keep her cover as a S.H.I.E.L.D. agent.

I've seen her almost every day, but sometimes she was out for some missions and when I finally decided to ask her where she had been in the last years she just told me that she was kidnapped by some sort of criminal organization and managed to escape after some years. Then she started working for S.H.I.E.L.D.
