𝑻𝒐𝒐 𝑴𝒂𝒏𝒚 𝑵𝒊𝒈𝒉𝒕𝒔 ~ 𝑴𝒆𝒕𝒓𝒐 𝑩𝒐𝒐𝒎𝒊𝒏, 𝑭𝒖𝒕𝒖𝒓𝒆, 𝑫𝒐𝒏 𝑻𝒐𝒍𝒊𝒗𝒆𝒓

Throughout the year Cameron spent her days working. She didn't rest when she was supposed to be recovering after three years spent at Hydra, she convinced herself that she had a mission to finish and she didn't care how long it was going to take or what was going to happen to her, she had to finish it no matter what.

She explained her plan to Fury a few days after the attack in New York.
She went in his office without even knocking and placed a bunch of files on his desk.

"What are these?", he asked her confused.

"Everything I found out about Hydra", she explained sitting down on the chair across from him.

"Are you sure about this?", he asked her as he looked through the files.

"They're inside S.H.I.E.L.D. , Nick. We can't trust anyone not even our biggest friends because they could be our biggest enemies", she told him leaning forward.

"Alexander Pierce, really? I've known him for years, I would have noticed if-", he started to complain but she stopped him.

"I heard his voice and I even did a scan of some voice recordings and it confirms that it was him. Nick, I think that they're planning something big and it's going to happen soon. We need to be ready", she said determined.

"And you really think they will believe that you're still with them? After all they've done to you? You always said that you always tried to resist so why should they believe you?", he asked her placing down the files on the desk.

"They have him and now they can't get me back because my identity was revealed, so I'm more of a threat to them. I can make a deal to not use him as the Winter Soldier and I will convince them that I will stay with them without telling anything to S.H.I.E.L.D.", she explained leaning back on her seat.

"What if it doesn't work?", Nick asked her.

"I will be the only one taking the risk, if anything happens I'll be the only one that will be affected by the consequences", she reassured him and Nick eventually even if reluctantly agreed with her plan.

So she talked with Sitwell a while later and he told the Hydra "bosses" who agreed with her deal and for the entire year no one saw and heard the Winter Soldier in action.

There was only one person who she couldn't fully trust and that was Rumlow. He was the only one, other than Natasha and Clint, that knew her better than the others.

When Cameron firstly joined S.H.I.E.L.D.  she was assigned to work with Rumlow for an year and since the first day he tried to hit on her until one day she eventually snapped and put a knife at his neck. But the bastard told Fury who at the time still didn't trust her fully, so he forced them to work side by side. With the time his troubled mood started getting softer for Cameron and eventually he wasn't so bad anymore.

She wasn't in love neither did she like him, but she just wanted to feel loved again since at the time she was convinced that she wasn't going to see Bucky anymore. Nothing really happened between her and Rumlow, they shared a few kisses throughout that year until she was too much drained by the guilt and eventually ended everything before it could even start.

She had promised Bucky not to get with anyone until they met each other again, and what she was doing wasn't fair.

But because of their "relationship", Rumlow knew her pretty well to tell that she wasn't entirely honest with Hydra, but the word of a single Hydra agent wouldn't have changed anything.

So during the year 2012 she managed her plan pretty well and by the end of the year she had many important and new information that she always shared with Nick. It was December while she was watching the TV in her room when everything glitched and a video of a so called terrorist appeared on the screen.

She immediately started to do some researches finding something even if not so helpful. Everything changed when during one of the videos she recognized Happy's body being taken away from a building that was set on fire.

She immediately grabbed her phone and called her father and he quickly picked it up and answered.

"Cameron?", he said as soon as he answered the phone recognizing the name on the screen.

"Dad, what happened? Is he okay? Where's the hospital I'll be there in a minute-", she began rambling asking multiple questions until he stopped her.

"He's recovering, I'm making him watch Downton Abby. There's no need for you to come here, I don't want you to get in trouble", he said trying to hide his shaking voice.

"Dad, I can't leave him or you alone now, not with a terrorist going around making buildings explode", she reasoned while getting a bag ready.

"I'm fine and Happy is going to recover soon. You're too far from here in anyway. I'm going to head home now to try and get some more information on this so called terrorist, I'll call you if anything happens just please stay there and be careful", he told her while making his way out of the hospital.

"Fine, but don't do anything stupid", she warned him and he couldn't help but think of when she told him the same thing four years earlier.

"I won't, I promise", he reassured with a small smile.

"Alright, I love you dad", she said softly.

"I love you 3000", he replied before they both hung up.

Little did she know that he wasn't going to keep his promise.
