𝑺𝒉𝒐𝒘 𝑴𝒆 𝑯𝒐𝒘 ~ 𝑴𝒆𝒏 𝑰 𝑻𝒓𝒖𝒔𝒕

It had been a few hours since the attack at Tony's Malibu mansion and Pepper was going crazy. Firefighters, cops and other authorities arrived quickly, but they didn't manage to find anything. Tony's body was nowhere to be found and Cameron's aswell.

Pepper tried to stay calm for a while, but eventually gave up and decided to make a call.

"Please, pick up", she muttered under her breath as she held her phone tightly against her ear.

"Hey, Pepper. What's going on?", Natasha's calm voice sounded from the other side of the line making Pepper sigh in relief.

"Have you not seen the news?", Pepper asked with a nervous tone.

"No, I'm kind of out of town right now. Why?", Natasha asked furrowing her brows.

"There was an attack at the house, here in Malibu. I don't know how or why, but it all happened so quickly and they told me to get out but I saw the building falling in the water and they're nowhere to be found-", Pepper started rumbling but the tears falling down her cheeks turned the slow crying into sobs not permitting her to continue.

"They? Who are you talking of?", Natasha asked now slightly worried.

"Tony and Cameron", Pepper said between sobs. Natasha felt as if the world was stopping. Thank God she was sitting on the couch in that moment or she probably would have fallen.

"We'll be there as quick as possible", she managed to say after a while, then she hung up and stood up. Just in that moment Clint walked in the living room and he furrowed his brows seeing her expression.

Natasha was staying at Clint's house with Cameron for the past months. They were working together to hack into some Hydra files when Cameron had to go back to her house to finish something. That's when she called Tony after seeing Happy's accident.

"What happened?", he asked concerned.

"Cameron and Tony got attacked at his house, Pepper said she hasn't them since and they still haven't been found", Natasha said with a worried look. She was trying so hard to be strong and not show her emotions, but Cameron was her sister and she didn't know what she would have done if she was dead. She had already been through this before amd it hadn't been easy.

"Let's go", Clint told her determinedly and Natasha nodded.

"Hey, what's going on?", Laura asked as she saw them getting ready to go out.

"There was an attack at Stark's house-", Clint told his wife as he put his jacket on.

"And Cameron was there", Laura finished understanding quickly.

"I'll keep you updated", Clint said as he opened the door. Natasha got out quickly and as he was about to do the same, Laura stopped him.

"It's gonna be okay", she told him softly trying to reassure him.

He didn't say anything and just leaned in to kiss her. When he pulled away he softly smiled at her before getting out of the house.
