Mars

(Shepard, Thorne, Jane, Ashley, Kaidan, and James all suit up, grab their gear, and hop in the shuttle)

Joker: I've been trying to reach Mars on secure channels. No one's answering

Shepard: Any signs of reaper activity?

Joker: Negative

Shepard: EDI?

EDI: The base appears to be online. It's possible the inhabitants were evacuated

Jane: We'll know soon enough

Shepard: Joker, be ready just in case

Joker: Roger that. Normandy out

James: We're almost there

Thorne: Load up if you haven't already

(Everyone checks their guns to make sure they're loaded)

James: Still no contact with the base, but we've got a massive storm headed our way

Ashley: How long until it hits?

James: About half an hour, tops. After that, we're gonna have difficulty keeping up comms with the Normandy

Shepard: Understood

Kaidan: Helmets on

(Shepard, Thorne, Jane, Ashley, Kaidan, and James all put their helmets on and step out of the shuttle onto the surface of Mars, a facility nearby)

(There is a dust storm on the horizon)

James: Damn, that's a huge storm. Looks a lot bigger in person

Ashley: Come on, Lieutenant. It's not that bad

James: Doesn't mean it can't kill us

Kaidan: I'm with James on this one. This storm isn't something we want to be caught in

Ashley: I'm more worried about the war back on earth. And Anderson

Jane: I'm worried about the fact that nobody here's reporting in

James: Who's that guy down there?

(James points to the corpse of an alliance soldier)

Kaidan: Alliance. His tags say Sergeant Reeves. Doesn't look like he put up a fight. Someone must've gotten the drop on him

James: Something's not right here

Jane: Keep a low profile until we know what's going on

James: Roger that

Thorne: Hold up. Look

(Thorne looks through his scope, and he sees a cerberus rover. There's a large group of cerberus troopers executing tied up alliance soldiers)

Thorne: Cerberus. Hmph. Figures they'd be involved in all this

(A cerberus trooper pulls out a pistol and executes an alliance soldier begging for his life)

Kaidan: Holy shit, they're executing them!

Shepard: Not for long

James: We've got a clear shot

Jane: Thorne, cover us. We're going in

Thorne: You got it
