(Shepard, Thorne, Jane, Tali, Legion, and Raan are gathered in the Normandy's war room)

Raan: Commander. We've located the reaper base transmitting the local signal. And not a moment too soon

Shepard: Good work

Raan: With the reaper code upgrades, the geth are still tearing our fleet apart

Legion: Once the signal is disabled, the geth will pose no threat to creator forces

Jane: You sound conflicted

Legion: While the old machines have unethical purposes, their upgrades have vastly improved our people. Observe

(Legion casts a diagram onto the war room's computer)

Raan: A geth processing signal. A single unit, I believe

Legion: Correct. Now 10 nearby units networked cooperatively. Now a single unit with the old machines' upgrades

Raan: That's a fully evolved AI

Legion: Yes. We do not agree with the goals of the old machines, but we find this growth... beautiful. Indicative of life

Shepard: It is

Thorne: I concur

Raan: Commander?

Shepard: The reapers sped up the process, but the geth were always moving this way

Legion: And they will die when we destroy the base

Raan: They allied with the reapers

Legion: To save themselves from the creators

Shepard: I don't want the geth destroyed. There could be another option

Raan: Commander Shepard, what are you suggesting?

Shepard: I'm not suggesting anything. All I'm saying is maybe the geth don't have to die

Raan: It's a moot point until we take out that base. The surrounding area is heavily fortified. And they have placed jamming towers to prevent orbital targeting

Jane: Sounds like we're going in on foot

Thorne: Just the way I like it

(Raan casts a weapon design onto the war room's computer)

Raan: Admiral Xen developed a laser guidance system that can cut through the jamming. It's synced to the Normandy's targeting computer

Shepard: So the Normandy will launch a precision strike at whatever target we have painted? That ought to do it

Thorne: Say what you want about Xen, but damn, she can make some fun toys

Shepard: EDI, does this work for you?

EDI: Yes. It should enable us to make a precision strike against the reapers

Jane: Or anything else in our way

EDI: The geth will quickly reconfigure their jamming towers to neutralize this technology. You should not use it before reaching the base

Raan: I've sent the coordinates for the reaper base

Shepard: Perfect. All squadmates, report to the shuttle bay and gear up

(Shepard, Thorne, Jane, Kaidan, James, Liara, Garrus, EDI, Galahad, Jack, Javik, Kirrahe, Grunt, Mordin, Thane, Ashley, Samara, Tali, Legion, and Cortez all hop into the shuttle and start flying down to rannoch)
