Chapter 9 - "You've picked wisely."

Y/n woke up not realising that she had fallen asleep. Eddies jacket was still placed over her keeping her warm enough to remain comfortable. She slid out from her spot lightly placing Eddie's jacket back on his lap. The dark-haired man stirred slightly not walking from his sleep. Y/n stood up and walked out from the rock looking at the surrounding forestry.

She was looking out at the scenery until she heard something. As if she had suddenly been transported elsewhere her surroundings were suddenly dead with a glooming red tone. She turned to look behind her noticing that Eddie and Robin weren't there.

A voice appeared from nowhere, "Zero."

Whipping around she began to look for the source. There it stood, a tall figure with burnt-like skin in the distance. She turned on her heel and began to sprint in the opposite direction into the field broken down, burnt trees. She felt as if no matter what speed her legs were running at it simply wasn't fast enough. Her adrenaline was the only thing keeping her going as her legs had gotten worn out aching from the sudden acceleration although she was too scared and distracted to notice.

"Zero, get to the gate." She heard as if the voice were in her head. She couldn't help but sprint faster only to see that whatever this thing was, it had somehow teleported in front of her. Y/n slammed into the creature, and it unflinching looked down at her.
Just as she was about to push off the wall it grabbed her wrist keeping her in place speaking this time, "You need to remember."

Too stunned to speak Y/n looked at her hand that the creature had pinned to its chest. Where her hands were placed suddenly the rotten burnt flesh began to peel away to show a normal shirt. She pulled her hand back in shock and the skin returned to its normal burnt self.

She stood there staring at the tall creature. Neither of them made a move. Finally gaining back enough confidence she whimpered out, "Who are you?"

"You will remember. Get to the gate." The deep echoing voice rumbled, legging it away from the beast she swerved in between the trees. The more she ran the more she realised the slimy tendrils chasing after her, one finally caught her ankle causing her to slam face first into the ground. She clawed at the dirt floor being pulled back slowly towards the creature.

Meanwhile, Eddie and Robin stood there panicking as they saw y/ns eyes pure with standing still. "What the fuck do we do?!?" Eddie started freaking out jumping around the place while Robin was there shaking Y/n aggressively. "I don't know Eddie it's not like we can call anyone!!!"

In that moment of desperation, it hit her, "The music. Get her music!" Robin screamed causing Eddie to jump into action, Eddie began rummaging through her bag of belongings desperately trying to find the girl's cassette player. The bag was full of small tapes with a few noticeable bands on it but right now here's throwing them out of her bag and kept searching for the cassette player with any form of headphones or earbuds attached to it. 

"I'll radio Steve!" Robin yelled panicking running over to the large walkie-talkie. "Dustin steve someone pick up!!" Robin bellowed into the device. "Dustin here."

"Get over here now! Y/n is vecna'ing'." She panicked looking between Eddie and Y/n. Eddies head picked up at the name of the cursed beast. A part was upset that Y/n hadn't told him.

"Shit!" Dustin ran around the house yelling "Steve we have to go!!" He ran into the room where Nancy and Steve were standing and talking. "Steve!"

"It's Y/n." He immediately sprinted down the stairs, and everyone followed him without delay.

Y/n gasped for air as her eyes rolled back to their normal position, Eddie scrambles over to the girl. "Y/n! Are you okay? What happened?" he asked worriedly holding her arms just in case she were to fall.
