Chapter 6 - "Uhh, I took ... a breather..."

"Why the fuck didn't you tell me!" Steve screeched relentlessly at the boy only for Dustin to yell back confused, "You said you didn't like her!"

"Of course I god damn like her what do you think I am Dustin!"

"I don't know!" At this point, they were both just yelling at each other freaking out, both of them not knowing what to do. Max had given up and began to listen to her walkman. Steve closed his eyes slamming his head against the steering wheel and setting it off. He left his head on the wheel leaving the beep ongoing. After a solid minute, he lifted his head from the wheel addressing Dustin calmly.

"How long has he liked her?" He asked quietly. Dustin responded quietly not sure if he should be sharing this information. "Well probably about a month and a half."

"She never told me about him before." Steve pondered trying to think of any time she may have shown any interest in anyone else throughout their entire friendship. He wouldn't have done anything to ruin her chances with anyone so he did not exactly have any memories on hand, he was too in denial to consider her with another man an option as backwards as it may have seemed.

Dustin decided to shed some light on the confusing situation only confusing Steve more, "Well, they haven't exactly met properly before now really."

Steve stopped for a moment taking a moment slightly relieved to hear so only for his relief to turn to confusion. "So, he liked her before he had met her? That is like being attracted to a television character."

Dustin shook his head, "It's a bit more complicated than that but I don't want to talk anymore about it."

"What? Why not?" Steve asked wanting to know why Eddie had such an interest in Y/n in the first place. "Eddie is my friend. I don't want to rat on him." Dustin calmly explained being the loyal friend that he was. A police siren went off behind them causing the three of them to turn their head to see a police car behind them. The officer stuck their hand out the window telling them to get moving with a simple hand gesture. "Shit, go go go."

"Where the fuck am I going?!" Steve roared. "Mrs Kellys!" Dustin screeched, "Where the fuck is that?!" 

"I don't know just drive."Dustin screeched as Max grabbed onto the door of the car as they took off.

The three women hopped out of the van as Nancy gave a disapproving look at the vehicle before exiting. The three began to walk towards the large library as Robin was the only person talking trying her best to keep the conversation from turning into a quiet and awkward silence between the group knowing well enough that there was some weird atmosphere between the two, and she sure as hell didn't want to get in the middle of it. Not even Y/n knew what Nancy had against her and she couldn't help but reciprocate the feeling of disapproval of the woman. 'God help whoever that woman was going to marry' Y/n thought shaking her head and smiling slightly whilst quietly laughing to herself wishing her best to the poor man... or woman.

"Help me get this straight. Eddie's uncle, Wayne, thinks that Victor Creel escaped from Pennhurst Asylum and that he's the one running around committing these murders?" Robin stated as Y/n locked the van outside the library by the side of the road.

"Pretty much," Nancy stated bluntly as the three entered the library. Robin sent Y/n an odd look of stupor as she turned back to Nancy. "But Victor committed the eyeball murders, like, way back in the '50s."

"Well, '59." Nancy's bluntness caused Y/n to scoff at her childlike manner. "So, that means these murders predate Eleven in the Upside Down by about 30 years?"

Y/n began to feel a throbbing feeling in her skull. "Are you okay y/n?" Robin asked taking notice of the woman's pained face, Y/n shook her head and shooed her off going back to the rude dark,  curly haired woman who had rolled her eyes.
