Chapter Eighteen
Disasters
When we were all sat down, the second blond said "What was the disaster that happened this week?"
I grinned and said "It actually happened the other day. We'd had a lot to drink. We were in town and decided to get a permenant home hair dying kit. We got home and drank some more. We were absoulotely pissed and then decided to do our hair."
"Oh, this doesn't sound too good." The brunette said.
"I chose to do my hair auburn, Nay and Fran went for blonde and Lou went for black." I heard a few sniggers from everyone. I then laughed myself. "After we'd done our hair, I was...explosive, is all I can say, and so could they. Lou's hair had more of her natural blonde than black, Nay was ginger and Fran was majorly ginger. Bright ginger. It was hilarious! So, this morning, we met up and went to the salon."
"What colour were you guys before?" A dirty blond asked.
"I was this, but slightly lighter." I said.
"Blonde." Lou said.
"Mousey." Fran said.
"I was jet black." Nay laughed.
"I can see where that would be bad." The first bright blond said.
"Uh huh." I said, smiling.
"I would've loved to see that." A black haired guy said. I glared at him. "But I'm happy seeing you guys like this." I giggled and stood up. I walked into the loos and sorted my make up and hair.
When I came back, everyone had changed seats. "What happened? Did I miss a game of musical chairs?" I said, looking around for a spare seat. There was a space next to the black haired guy. I sat down and he smiled at me. I smiled back and grabbed my drink from the table. I took a swig and placed it back on the table that was in the middle of the sofas. A huge throbbing had nestled itself at the back of my head as I sat back, and said "Urgh, I have a killer headache."
The guy next to me put his hand on my thigh and said "Do you want some water?" I nodded and muttered a 'thanks' as he stood up to get me a drink. When he handed me my water, I sipped on it and then smiled at him.
"Thanks." I said, my head still hurting.
He placed his hand back on my thigh and said "S'alright."
The night ended with me and the black haired guy sat on the sofa kissing. When I got home, I went straight to sleep and woke up to Sal shouting my name. I put my hand to my head and shouted "WHAT?!"
"It's half five! Get up!" I sighed and climbed out of bed. I went down the stairs and sighed. "Have you and Nat made up?"
"I don't think so, unless we did last night. Why?"
"Because you have the biggest love bite I've ever seen." I ran to the nearest mirror and looked at my neck. She was right. There was a dark purple bruise on the left hand side of my neck.
I gasped and said "Shit! When did that happen?" Sal sighed.
"How should I know? I didn't see you yesterday. Either way, the bugger you snogged was the nearest thing you'll ever meet to a vampire." I laughed and grabbed a cup of coffee.
While drinking the coffee, I tried to remember what had happened last night. In the end I gave up and met up wiht Nat.
As we sat in Starbucks, I looked at him and tried to see if we had made up. If he was giving away anything with his body language. By the looks of it, he wasn't. After he'd got our drinks from the counter, he said "Mel, what's that over there?" He said, pointing behing me. I turned my head and he said "Bugger!"
"What?" I asked.
"Who have you been with?"
"I don't know."
"What?"
"I got very drunk last night and only remember coming out of the salon yesterday. I can't remember anything else from that day."
"Oh."
"Any reason for your meeting me?"
"I wanted to see if I was with you last night."
"You told me to keep away from you."
"But the first thing Sal said when she saw me was had me and you made up. So I thought maybe it was Nat."
"Hun, I ain't that...viscious." Nat said, sounding slightly offended.
"Sorry, I didn't mean anything against you."
"Good."
"Okay, well, thanks for my drink." I said, finihsing it and standing up. "See ya'."
When I got out of Starbucks, I thought to myself so it wasn't Nat.
