"My curse is to stay here forever. For supporting the titans during the great war." Calypso told me while she seasoned a raw piece of red meat on a large table that mysteriously appeared in front of her cave when I had arrived. "As..... punishment. The gods will send me one of their champions for me to fall in love with. Once I fall in love with them, the hero is free to go if he chooses too. Of course, he's a hero with a responsibility. So he has to go. And I must stay. Though, this is the first time I've had three heroes come to my island at once."

Calypso explained this to me without a hint of emotion. Its likely an explanation she has had to give many others that have come before me. The fact that three of us landed here must have been a slap in the face to her. She briefly placed the meat to the side and grabbed a iron pan and reached out her hand to the right. A coffee table waddled from the cave behind us with a bottle of olive oil on it. She grabbed it and poured it into the pan. Once done, she placed the pan onto the coffee table. The coffee table waddled away while she wrapped the meat in aluminum.

Normally, walking furniture would be super cool to me, but I chose to suppress my enthusiasm given the conversation we were having.

"I'm sorry." I told her. Already, I could feel the wheels turning as I tried to find potential solutions to her curse. Much like I did when I met Medusa. "But..... why did you support the titans in the first war?"

Calypso smiled without emotion, "Because my father is Atlas. That's why. Are you going to go on a rant about how bad the titans are, like Percy? Or how stupid I am for trusting the titans, like that little brat Nico?"

"No." I told her, while the coffee table waddled its way back to us.

She blinked, taken aback by my response. "Oh, well. What do you think about me siding with the titans? If you don't mind me asking."

Once the coffee table had returned, she placed the wrapped meat onto it. The coffee table waddled back towards the firepit. Calypso then turned her attention to the yellow peppers already lined up on the table and began slicing into them and pulling out the seeds within. "I don't have any opinion." I told her. "I would need to hear your side of the story to have one."

Calypso raised an eyebrow while she chopped another pepper. "Its been a long time since I met someone as level headed as you. Who's you godly parent?"

"Jupiter." I said, using the winds to push the piece of meat the coffee table was struggling to get into the pan.

Calypso stopped cutting momentarily. "Jupiter...... That name sounds familiar, but its no god I recognize. Are they a minor god I've never heard of?"

I smiled. "Try major. Or Optimus Maximus, really. Jupiter is Zeus's Roman form."

Calypso nearly cut her finger off. "ZEUS!?"

"Whoa, don't hurt yourself." I said.

Calypso took a deep breath. "Sorry. Its been a while since I've heard from Zeus. He's the reason I'm locked up here." She swallowed and went back to cutting. "Of course, that's not your fault. But, Roman form. What does that mean? I remember Apollo mentioning the Roman empire not too long ago on one of his many visits. The sun god did not have kind words for the Romans."

I laughed dryly. "Yeah..... Its a hard concept for me to even explain. All i know is there is a difference between their Greek and Roman forms."

Calypso nodded, laying out each pepper she had cut in half. "I'm sure. We do live in a very strange world."

The large mahogany table suddenly began waddling towards the fire pit, with Calypso and I following close behind. "I supported my father because he is just that, my father." Calypso explained, a far away look in her eyes. "My father, Atlas, was a brutal Titan General. But when he had time to visit me in my home with my mother, he was just my father."
