"Something on your... mind, Jason?" Annabeth asked , while Sam and Grover took turns hurling their guts out.

Mrs. O'Leary had scared us half to death running directly into a corner of the cavern that was hidden in the shadows. Nico had warned us of shadow travel, an ability he himself had yet to even try.

"I've only done it a few times," Nico told us. "But whatever you do, do NOT let go of her. The shadows are a chaotic space between life and death. Many of the spirits in the field of mourning travel through there to haunt their living relatives. If they catch you alone without a shadow guide, they will try to take your body for themselves."

Annabeth's, Grover's and Sam's skin turned as white as a ghost at the mention of the field of mourning. They vigorously agreed to not let go of Mrs. O'Leary.

While traveling through the shadows my eyes were open, but I could not see anything in front of me. The four of us pressed our bodies against each other as the cold was unbearable. Voices begged for our attention in the background, hoping we would come to them, join them. My hands tightened around Mrs O'Leary's fur, trying my best to ignore them.

Once we had arrived at our destination, Sam and Grover leaped off of Mrs. O'Leary's back and threw up. Mrs. O'Leary bounced around them happily and leaped into another shadow, disappearing. Annabeth and I were better off, but the trip made us dizzy. The two of us sat down, overlooking the valley below us.

I shrugged. "Nothing. Where are we?" I asked her.

Annabeth gazed across the valley. We sat a top a mountain overlooking what I assumed was the Garden of the Gods in Colorado. In the distance, we could see the rock formations of the garden, which looked like small child blocks from here.

"I think.... Pikes Peak." Annabeth finally answered, taking small, quick gasps. "Airs.... Thin up here."

I perked up, having not noticed it. Sam and Grover were struggling to breathe too between their fits of vomit. "Oh, I can help with that."

I summoned the winds from below the mountain, increasing air flow. Annabeth took a deep breath. "Thank you. Now, spill the beans Grace, what happened on Calypso's island?"

My hair popped at the mention of Calypso's Island. "How do you know that?"

Annabeth smirked. "Percy gave me a VERY brief summary of what happened. But he told me enough so that I can piece things together. Demigod heroes falling into a secluded paradise island, with the only way out is through very specific requirements needing to be met? That sounds like Calypso's island to me."

She played with her necklace beads. "So.... Out of the three of you, who did she fall in love with? Was it Percy? Not that I care, just curious..."

She stared at me tentatively, waiting for my response. Her cheeks turning pink.

I understand she was curious (and specifically about Percy), but the mere mention of Calypso's Island and what transpired there enraged me. "Percy was fine. He was dealing with Nico more then anything....... But the rest? I'm not ready to talk about it. Sorry Chase." I said.

Annabeth pursed her lips and nodded. "That's all I need to know. I'm sorry Jason."

Sam and Grover joined us, groaning on there way here. "That was terrible." Sam said, spitting on the ground behind us.

Grover nodded. "Never doing that again. Keep me far away from anything death related, thank you."

"You came with the wrong team then." I said, my tone angry. "Come on. We need to stop Max. Now."

"And what do you mean I cannot be a part of the proceedings!" Epimetheus shouted, his voice shaking the ground beneath us. "I have every right to witness the rebirth of lord Kronos! Just as much as you!"
