Update 8/3/22

Hey guys, just wanted to update those who are still waiting on the newest chapter of the rewrite. I have been losing motivation if I am going to be honest, but I will certainly try my best to rewrite this. It's going to be a long time before it gets finished and I honestly can't thank you guys enough with your patience. 

While this is also an update on where I am in terms of the writing, I also want to inform everyone who has read and who wants to read this. I have been, always have been, getting comments about how this is not an X Reader story and that this is an X OC story and that I need to take out the X Reader part. I just looked at my title and the description. No where does it specifically state it's an X Reader and if it's an X OC story. No where. I guess the only give away is the Y/N in the description, but even then, no where does it explicitly say it's one or the other. Therefore, I will not be stating if it is one or the other.

This story, and my other stories, are simply to entertain those who want to read it. And I thank the people who have overlooked the first chapter and didn't say anything about it because I know, I know I fucked up there. But there is a reason why the first chapter has a description as such.

My friend wanted me to write this story and she wanted to insert herself, but still wanted it to be true to the X Reader story. And if you looked at the date of when I wrote this, it was back in 2017. I was in high school in 2017 and had no experience writing an X Reader story. So with my lack of knowledge and her wanting to be inserted, I had no idea what the difference was. So please, those who read this story forward and have the urge to comment what was mentioned a couple paragraphs above, stop and think about when this was written and compare it to other stories I have written. The more recent stories are true to the X Reader image. While this one was not because like I said, it was my first time writing an X Reader story and my friend wanted to be put in it.

I know some were harping on me and I wanted to turn off comments, but I cannot turn off the comments and so I thought I would reach out to all of you and inform you of what I have been feeling about those comments lately. I have been getting a lot of weird and negative comments as of late and while they didn't bother me at first, it was like a weight on my shoulders that just grew and grew until it got too heavy. I am sure most of you can agree with me when it comes to certain subjects. But this one I had turned a blind eye for so long that the weight became unbearable and with my not so great mental health right now, it just collapsed in on me. I wanted to take this matter into my own hands and this is my response.

I did not want to call those out or respond to them directly. I wanted to inform everyone and let people figure it out themselves who made these comments if they wish to do so. But what this story really boils down to is it is simply here for the entertainment and the enjoyment of others. Please, with everything I have mentioned here, take that into consideration the next time you, the readers, want to comment something about this not being a true X Reader story. I know it itsn't. Do I want to fix it? It is fixed in the rewritings. So while it is fixed in the rewritings, I will not be fixing it to the original. So bear with the first chapter because I think it changes to be a true X Reader story. If it doesn't, that is my mistake and you'll just have to read the rewritings. 

Before I end it off here, there is also one more subject at hand. Markl's age in this story. A lot of people were commenting that Markl was a child. But he was a child in the Studio Ghibli rendition. Howl's Moving Castle is based off the book Howl's Moving Castle by Diana Wynne Jones. And in the book, Markl is sixteen. While most of my story is based from the movie, that one small detail about Markl is based off of the book. I addressed this before and I will continue to address it. 

I know this was a lot to read, but I just want to thank those who read it and now understand the whole situation. I do not fault anyone who commented about this story being not a true X Reader story. The only person I can blame is my 2017 self for not knowing what the difference was. That I have learned my mistakes and have overcome it. Thank you for those who have been reading since the very first chapter and those who are just starting to read. Take care guys and that next chapter of the rewrite will be out...........eventually.
