The Warrior turned to "Midnox," whose younger self lay moaning on the floor.
"You broke the First Law of Time, Midnox. Or rather, Draxel. There never was a Midnox. I may not be a saint when it comes to this, but I hope you had a very good reason."

"Yes, I did. In the original timeline, I managed to crawl through the rubble and escape, just before Karlax arrived. I don't know how I survived that poison gas. It was the most painful thing I have ever experienced. I burned through five regenerations before I got to this one. And it gets in your head, too. The things I saw..."
He shuddered.
"But that was not the main reason I came back. The first time around, you were both killed by Karlax. With you gone, Rassilon brought back truly evil renegades to lead his armies. When they failed, he resorted to more desperate things. Things I don't want to talk about. The multiverse was bathed in blood. The War ground on without end. We had no hope. So I knew I had to go back."

"Why did Rassilon send someone to kill his best warrior," Preda asked.

"I don't know. Future Rassilon must be a deranged lunatic. He must be stopped."

"It seems future me tried and failed to stop him," the Warrior said. "I'll have to be more careful."

"At least that Karlax fellow was sloppy," Preda said. "I'll bet he hadn't been a commander for very long."

"He's still out there," older Draxel said. "He'll try again."

"I guess I'll have to kill him before that happens," the Warrior said.

Younger Draxel sat up. "Uggghhhh... My head hurts. Tangled timelines... Oh, well. At least I'm alive. I ought to be glad for that."
He looked around, and did a double take when he saw his older self.

"Do you remember both timelines," his future self asked.
He nodded.

"Then you know what to do. Don't stay much longer or the Reapers will arrive."

Younger Draxel got up and walked off to find his TARDIS.

"How am I going to stop Rassilon," the Warrior thought out loud.

"I don't know, but there is always a way if you look hard enough," said Draxel.

"EXTERMINATE," said a distant voice from down the hallway.

"They didn't kill all of them," Preda said.

"We're not going to find the Eye of Discord from here," the Warrior said. "They know we're up to something strange. We'll just have to blow up the station."

"A bit crude compared to what we came for," Preda said.

"A bit crude, yes, but immensely satisfying," the Warrior replied. He turned to Draxel.

"Assuming I do manage to stop the war and survive, I just have one question for you."

"Fire away."

"How do I make myself regenerate into a ginger?"
