Fabian Prewett was an amazing dancer. Renee was thankful to have him leading. If it were anyone else, she would not be able to keep up. He was understanding, simple, fun, and handsome. Most of all Fabian Prewett was a great friend. No matter how hard Renee Potter tried to see him as something more, she couldn't. And it sucked.
Her eyes did wander towards a certain male, who was dancing with some Ravenclaw. Matthew Wilson had taken her aside after Slughorn had served dinner. He wanted her to save him a dance. The most frustrating thing was that he hadn't left the girl he had come with to dance with her. Which in turn made her more frustrated because it wasn't like he owed her anything. She turned him down. Then again, he had a lot of time to ask her. She didn't even understand why this was a big deal. To anyone let alone her. It was a dinner, it wasn't as if it was some grand ball. She didn't even like Slughorn. And she didn't get good enough grades for him to invite her to more than the Christmas dinner every year."I'm going to go get us some drinks, love," Fabian stated as she sat at an empty chair. Renee was glad that she chose to wear flats instead of heels. Looking over all the other girls who were massaging their feet.
Remus and her brother were seemingly having a good time as well. Joking and dancing with each other. And dancing with other people's dates. She was happy for them. Both boys had been in quite a slump over the past week. "Ren, may I have this dance?" Her attention was stripped away from the two and she jumped at the voice.
"Oh! Sirius, you scared the shit out of me." He chuckled as she grabbed his hand, "It will have to be quick, Fabe has just left to grab drinks." She regarded the punch table and couldn't spot him.
"I think I saw him take a quick trip to the loo." The Black heir stated knowingly, a mischievous smile on his lips.
"What did you do?" She asked accusingly, while he led her to the middle of the makeshift dancefloor.
"Why do you always assume I did something?"
"Nine times out of ten, I'm right." He just smiled and continued swaying to the song. Then of course in true Marauder fashion, he decided to make a scene by spinning her. Renee twirled back into Sirius' arms with a look of horror. "You do that again and I'm going to fall over."
"You're fine. I wouldn't want you to fall for me too fast." His smile was contagious. That was the thing about Sirius, there's hardly a time that you're with him and not having a good time. She always appreciated it.
Sirius Orion Black was an even better dancer than Fabian. He had taken ballroom dancing lessons since he was old enough to walk. However, Renee didn't know that. Hardly anyone did, except for a few other Pureblood families. Most of them had to. That's why it didn't surprise Renee Potter too much when Sirius tripped over his own feet, sending Ren tumbling into Remus Lupin. She had no idea that it was all staged. She figured that the only thing he had done was the Fabian deal. Especially when she saw him over Sirius' shoulder, his shirt drenched in punch. Chatting with her twin before abandoning the area Slughorn had set up for the dinner, once again.
Lupin being perfect at everything, caught her, in perfect timing with the song. The girl's heart was racing. Her lungs constricted like they did all those days ago. Remus saw this thankfully and rushed her out of the room. "Ren, it's okay." He reached into his breast pocket to grab the chocolate frog he had stashed in there earlier.
The Potter girl grabbed her chest, sitting on the bench in the corridor. Her vision blurred as tears started to gather. She felt as if her throat was closing in. What will everyone think of me now? What will they say? Why can't I just be normal? All her worries were piling up. She couldn't understand why they were affecting her so much. She didn't even fall completely. She was caught. Remus caught her from making a fool of herself. She blinked quickly, tears falling from her eyes. Remus.
"Here, Ren. Take a bite." His hand was in front of her face. Chocolate frog edging her lips. Renee tasted the sweetness and sighed. Her body fell into his. She was suddenly so exhausted. "Can you stand?" The near panic attack took a lot out of her. Ren just wished they would go away. Who freaks out over the simplest things? Only Renee. That's how she felt anyway.

The two teens sat upon Remus' bed. The girl's back was pressed against the headboard as the boy faced her. Legs stretched onto his thighs. One foot on either side of his hips. A pretty compromising position. If James Potter had walked in on this he would flip. Smoke blew from her lips as she smiled to herself. Remus rested his hand on her calf, which was donned in his sweats.
As he took the outstretched joint from her fingers, he looked her up and down. The werewolf loved seeing her in his clothes. He wished he could see this every day. It was a lot better than taking her to a stupid dinner. "Thank you for everything, Rem." The lids of Ren's eyes were hooded as she looked at the boy. Her brain is fuzzy with the inhalation of the drug.
"It was my pleasure, Ren. I'll always help you." He meant every word.
"Come here." He moved her feet and crawled toward her on the bed. His back met the headboard beside her. Renee's hand turned his face to look at her. And she repositioned herself onto her knees. Their eyes met each other and they were suddenly sober. The Potter leant down and their lips met in a gentle kiss. As soon as it started, it stopped. The two pulled apart sharing a nervous laughter. "I appreciate it. You're like my own Muggle superhero."
"It wasn't much, Ren. Easy to catch a falling damsel in distress."
Damsel in distress—A young woman in trouble that needs to be saved by a prince.
The girl grimaced. "You may be a prince, but I don't plan on being a damsel."
