An incessant tapping is what Renee woke up to the next morning. The room was spinning, her head was pounding. She stumbled out of bed, grabbing one of Remus' shirts and unlatching the bedroom window. A Hogwarts owl cooed and hopped onto the pain. It opened its beak, allowing the woman to grab the letter. "Thank you, I don't have anything for you. Give me one second." She came back from the kitchen and handed it a piece of bread. The owl gave her a questioning look before scarfing it down.
Ren,
I'm having a hard time adjusting. If you didn't know there are not many Blood Traitor Slytherins in Hogwarts right now. There's something important I need to talk to you about. I would prefer if we could in person. Owl me back.
Yours,
R.A.B
"Alright." She muttered, scribbling a reply with a Muggle quill Remus called a pen. "Bring this to Regulus Black please." The bird hooted and took off. Leaving Renee to turn her focus to the man in their bed. She sighed, grabbing clothes from the wardrobe, and leaving for the bathroom. Ren left an inadequate note for Remus before holding her wand in her hand and imagining Hogsmeade. She immediately popped up in front of The Three Broomsticks, and let out a chuckle as nostalgia washed over her. Her feet dragged her into an alleyway and she pulled her sweatshirt hood over her head. Now becoming an owl.
It was nice to be an owl again. She doesn't remember the last time she changed. Renny missed the freedom she felt as she watched the land below her.
Regulus rushed up the stairs to the Owlery, when he said they should meet he didn't mean within the hour of getting the owl. He scoped out the tower, looking for the rare bird. A squawk made him duck. The Snowy Owl landed in front of him, turning into Renee. She bounded toward him, taking Regulus into her arms. He responded to the embrace with only a little hesitation. "I've missed you."
"I gathered." He uttered, nuzzling his face in her neck. Finally feeling comfort in the walls of Hogwarts.
"Tell me what's going on." She smiled, sitting on the cobblestone. Regulus made a face of disgust following her actions. Reg explained everything, the hexing, the teasing, the pranking. He also explained that he had taken up solace in the Come-and-Go room. Not feeling safe in his dorm. "You should tell Dumbledore. He could expel them or at least find you new dorm mates."
"He shouldn't have let known Death Eaters into the school in the first place. Plus, I'm fine where I am. The room gives me anything I need." The Slytherin huffed out, letting his head fall into his hands.
"And he's aware that they are Death Eaters?" Reg looked up at the girl. A facial expression that read 'Are you serious?', "just wondering, so what did you want to talk about?"
"Orion Black is dead. Mother wants me to go back to Grimmauld Place during Christmas break." His body demeanour changed, suddenly crawling back into himself as he hid away his emotions. His eyes now facing the ground and his posture fixing itself. Renee placed a soothing hand on his back and he looked over at her again.
"You know, I've never really been to the Come-and-Go room."

Had to run, talk later?
—Renee
Remus ran a hand over his face and reread the five words Ren had left him. The five words gave no intel on how his ex was feeling. However, signing the note Renee gave away a lot. She knew that Remus only called her that when they were in a disagreement. Did that mean that they were? He sighed, crumpling the ripped parchment and tossing it in the bin.
