Eat Bogies

There's no doubt that Remus Lupin was completely taken with Renee Potter. Which is why they were out in Diagon Alley talking with every shop owner. Probably something Ren could've done alone but she insisted that Remus' presence made her more confident. He knew it was because she needed emotional support. Most shops weren't hiring or they were very cautious about who they would hire. Which wasn't surprising, wouldn't want to hire someone siding with the Dark Lord. Her last name helped her situation, most of the people knew her parents. But still, she walked out the doors after hearing, "I'll owl you," repeatedly. Remus watched Renee stare longingly towards the windows of Florean Fortescue's Ice Cream Parlour, which was owned by their old classmate's family. The man had mentioned that his daughter would be working with him so he had no work for her.

"Oh, hello dear, pleasure to see you again." Glenda, the witch that ran the Magical Menagerie smiled slightly as the girl entered the shop. Ren was crestfallen, she had officially applied to all places in Diagon Alley. Including the magical/non-magical animal center, she stood in. The witch behind the counter had heavy black spectacles adorning her face and shabby dress robes. It made sense, she had to care for all the creatures in there so her clothes would likely get some goop on them.

"Hi Glenda," The Potter girl opened a Puffskein's cage and held it in her hand. It's tongue coming out, swiping over the girl's face. She winced and put it back down, running her sleeve over her face to wipe up the slobber.

"You know... Nancy just started training to earn her Magizoology. She isn't going to be around much to help." Remus saw Renee's face change as he watched from the window outside. He never wanted to enter the Menagerie, knowing he couldn't resist Renee's look when she saw the kittens. She nodded eagerly at whatever the middle-aged witch said.

"I got one!" Renny bounded into the werewolf's arms, shaking with excitement.

"I thought we were going to get a new house before we got an animal." He nuzzled his face into her hair, resting his chin on her shoulder.

"No," she backed away, arms still around his waist, "I got a job, I start tomorrow. Three galleons an hour." The Muggle bookshop that Remus was working at paid him £18, which he explained was just over 3 galleons. He also told her that she was making around £15 an hour. Renee didn't understand Muggle money one bit, then again, she barely understood Wizard money as well. That's why Remus was handling the expenses.

1978 was one of the best years for the group. So much had happened for the better, including being able to help with the Order. They would get easy tasks for now, only having been in it since they graduated in June. Because Renee got the job at the Magical Menagerie, she was the eyes of Diagon Alley, along with Alice Fortescue, who was a bright and friendly Gryffindor. She, of course, worked at the ice cream shop right across the street from Ren. They would often walk the Alley with each other to work, grab lunch, and then leave together. Frank Longbottom and Alice had a flat not too far from Marlene and Dorcas. So, they would walk together and when Alice arrived home, she would floo-call to ensure that Renee knew she was safe.

"I'll be back in thirty Glenda," Ren called to the older witch, before wandering over to Alice. Who was waiting outside her parents' shop.

"Afternoon Miss Potter." She greeted jokingly, throwing her arm around the girl before they entered the café they frequented.

"How's work been?" Ren asked as they took a seat, not waiting for the waiter, Tim, to seat them.

"Busy, I can't wait for the kids to go back to Hogwarts. Dad says it gets slower, and I cannot wait for us to close for renovations. What about you?"

"We've only sold Puffskeins, almost all out. It's weird how popular they are." The girl across from her laughed a bit at the evident disgust on Ren's face. "They eat bogies. I would never get one!" She defended, throwing her hands up.

"Have you convinced him about the cat?" They quickly thanked Tim for bringing them tea.

"Not yet, he thinks we'll have enough money for a house in three months. But that's if we're able to not spend too much..." They both looked around them, for the last week or so they had been eating out at the café, and Renee hadn't even realized how much she had been spending.

"Yeah, maybe we should start cooking lunches then." Both brunettes laughed, an explosion outside caused them to jump from the chairs they were sat in. Kneeling under the table, Ren glanced around. Glass from the window and rubble from the buildings was everywhere. The girl felt as if everything was in slow motion. All she could hear was a ringing noise. For what seemed like forever, she stared at nothing. Having zoned out involuntarily. Before she knew it all her senses rushed to her. She heard Alice yelling her name from beside her. The girls stood wearily and took in the scene around them. Tim was laid next to the counter, having been thrown from the door. She ran to him, placing her ring and middle finger on his neck. A faint pulse. He was covered in gashes and losing a lot of blood.

"Vulnera Sanentur." The witch cast, moving her wand in a circular motion across the largest cut. It slowly came back together and she moved on to the next one. "What's the spell to bring him back to consciousness?" Alice kneeled next to her, whipping her wand out and muttering it.

"Expecto Patronum." Renee casts boldly, uttering a message for the owl to take to Lily Evans, who is still in Healer training. Within minutes the ginger-haired girl apparated outside the café, walking briskly into it.

"What the Hell happened?" She checked over Renee before realizing that Tim laid out behind her.

"I'm going to go see, could you look after him?" Lily nodded, beginning to treat the man. Alice joined Ren; wands were drawn.

"Renee!" A male voice called to her; within seconds she was embraced firmly by her brother. "There was an explosion at 'The Daily Prophet', and the Dark Mark appeared," James explained, his glasses askew and hair more of a mess. Ren backed out of his arms, looking above her head to see a skull and snake over the brick road. She shivered at the sight looking at Alice and seeing the same reaction. "Franks in the building, helping wizards get home." He stated and Alice took off toward the wreck.

"Lily's in there, she's helping the waiter. He was by the door when it happened and got injured." Her twin nodded, saying a quick goodbye.

"Renee, I'm so glad you're okay." Glenda held the taller witch, her hands shaking. "Let's feed them, check for injuries, and then close early." There wasn't much damage done to the building aside from blown-out windows. Ren quickly cast reparo on all broken fixtures. She looked over the animals closest to the windows first. Silently crying when she found a Horned Toad impaled by a shard of glass. A couple of the other creatures had cuts that she easily mended. Thankfully they only lost the toad. Renny couldn't help but feel offended when Glenda suggested they send it to the Apothecary to become potion ingredients.

Renee was pulled into a third pair of arms today. She had just gotten home, and Remus immediately yanked her to him. "Did you get hurt?"

"No, Alice and I were pretty close to it though. Have a bit of a headache." The werewolf nodded, giving a quick kiss which she reciprocated. He left her in the living room to run her a bath. She stripped from her dust-covered clothing and hopped in, Remus joining shortly after. He gently massaged her shoulders. Leaning into him, she let out a small groan. His hands work wonders on her tense muscles.

"I don't know what I would do if you were hurt." He whispered, kissing her neck. Ren's head tilted to the side, giving him more access. A tingling feeling shot down her body, making her toes curl. "I love you, Renee," Remus uttered, Renny's eyes shot open. She turned around, now on her knees. His eyes travelled over her body quickly, meeting her eyes again. She let out a breath she didn't know she was holding in.

"I love you too." Before they knew it, they were out of the tub and tangled in the sheets. The couple had had many sexual encounters together before, mostly stopping as far as oral. Feeling Remus inside her was something completely different. A whole new experience for both. His face pressed against her neck as he muttered profanities. It was hot, both the words he said and the breath he let out. An overwhelming feeling came over the girl, causing her to cry out writhing beneath him. This sent Remus into overdrive, riding out her orgasm at a fast pace. Sending him over the edge. They fell asleep soon after, whispering sentiments.
