Dated?

"Oh, my dears, we're so glad you're home. It's been so quiet without you." Mia stated, serving the three teens breakfast. They had hardly talked, the twins sitting on one side of the table and Sirius on the other. "And that's not going to change." She mumbled, sitting down across from Monty, who was at the head. He let out a small chuckle.

"Oh, leave them, Mia. They just got back, probably exhausted." They all sat in silence, Sirius glancing at James and Renee every couple of minutes. Noticing how the girl played with her food, moving it around her plate. He knew something was off, hoping that it was more than what he had put Remus through. Sirius didn't want to be the reason Renny didn't eat.

"Can I be excused?" She asked, pushing her chair away from the table. Looking at her mother and father. She nervously played with the leaf in her mouth.

"Yes, my love, we'll talk later." Renee left quickly to her room. James and Sirius watch in concern, before wolfing down their food.

"Amazing as always Mia, thank you!" Sirius called, finishing before James. He threw a look at the boy and rushed upstairs. The lady of the house put her fork down, looking at James expectantly. Her son squirmed under the watch. It didn't take long before he spilled.

"They dated and broke up!" His hands flew up in the air, frustrated. He knew that if he didn't say anything it would only get worse. So, this explanation was the best he could think of. Couldn't say that Sirius led Snape to Remus while he was a werewolf and almost killed him. Well, he could but that would be ratting on Sirius and outing Remus' biggest secret. James would never do that.

"Dated?" Fleamont asked, horrified, standing from his seat. James follows his actions. Fleamont had almost made it out of the dining area.

"Sit down, both of you!" She sighed, massaging her forehead. "Let them talk." She trusted her daughter and Sirius.

"What's going on?" Black asked her, sitting on her bed. Renny turned to Sirius, watching him watch her. She opened her mouth, showing off the leaf that rested on her tongue.

"This is not me forgiving you." Sirius nodded, twirling a strand of hair on his finger.

"You're becoming an animagus?" She nodded, lying down on her bed.

"James' idea." He looked at her, really looked at her. Her eyes were reddened. Dark bags below them. Suggesting she hadn't slept a wink last night. A frown etched onto her beautiful face, which usually was always slightly smiling.

"But that's not it." Renee rolled over, grabbing a piece of parchment and quill from her bedside table. She wrote down everything that had occurred during the ride yesterday. Sirius read the parchment, his face contorting when he read about Matthew. Renee left out the part where Regulus comforted her, and when she allowed him to run away to the Potters. She didn't want him to get his hopes up. "What a plot twist. I'm sorry you kissed that prick." Renee snorted, sitting up to pat his back.

"I've kissed a lot of pricks." Sirius let out a barking laugh.

"You should never say that Ren!" Renee pushed Sirius, resulting in him falling off the bed.

"Is everything alright in here?" Monty's voice came through the door, pushing it open slowly, his hand covering his eyes.

"Dad!" Renny shouted, almost losing the leaf from her mouth. "We're decent. You think Siri and I would do that?"

"Jamie said you were together. So, I don't know."

"Well, we wouldn't leave the door unlocked," Sirius stated, from his spot on the ground, earning a glare from both Potters.

"All doors are to stay open from now on." The man declared, walking away from the groaning children with a smirk on his face.

On Christmas Eve, Renee Potter stayed in the living room. It was nine, and Jamie and Sirius were in their respectable rooms. Bidding her parents, goodnight. She sat anxiously, watching the fireplace like a hawk. She knew that Sirius came later last year. It was nearing eleven when Renee went to go to bed and James yelled for her to owl their parents. Regulus could be getting the mark during the summertime. It didn't have to be tonight. And he was only fifteen—Sirius was sixteen. Renee bounced her leg, shifting her body on the couch. Suddenly, the fire burst into flames, producing a crumpled-up ball of parchment. She threw herself onto the ground, blowing on the slightly flaming paper. She opened it, hissing at the heat.

Renee sighed, running a hand through her hair, throwing the paper into the now alit fireplace. He's alright.

Christmas went by quickly; it was now New Year's Eve. James stood with his sister in her room. They made their way to her balcony, knowing the phial had to be in the moon's rays. The full moon took up a big portion of the sky. "I wish we knew how Remus is doing." James nodded, opening the phial as Renee pulled the wet leaf from her mouth. He then plucked a hair from her head. "Hey! You could've warned me."

"Sorry, almost done for now." His sister rubbed her head, glaring at him. James poured the dew onto a silver spoon before adding it to the phial. He handed the mixture to Renee, pulling a chrysalis of a Death's head Hawk Moth from his back pocket. He opened the container, gripping the thing with disgust. He stuffed it into the phial, tightening the lid on it. "Where can we put it so that it won't be touched?" Renee grabbed it, storing it in the far corner of her closet.

"I've already repacked for Hogwarts." She stated, closing the door, and walking back to James, "Wait what if the electrical storm comes while we're away?"

"Pads passed his Apparition test. I figured he could go to Hogsmeade and grab it."

"That won't affect it?"

"Shouldn't. And if it does that just means you'll be a half human-half animal."

"James!" She shouted, throwing her hands in the air.

"It should be fine! Would it calm you if he floos?"

"Yes, actually it would." The twins joined their family in the living room. Both shot a thumbs up to Sirius, who grinned back at them.
