Renee couldn't go on as if it happened. Something in her mind told her that she had to act as if Remus was the same person as he was before. Of course, he was the same. But not in her perspective. Ren was heavily attracted to him. She could imagine a life with him, where they would get married, have children and maybe a cat. Creating this scenario has ruined her. She felt as if distancing herself would aid her affections. So, Renee went on with her classes and study sessions as if nothing happened.
Remus could not, his mind was also plagued with the thoughts. Have been for the last few months. Distancing himself was a lot easier than he had thought it would be. During classes, he kept gazing at her and Matthew. Ren still hadn't been to study with Remus, but she hardly stepped into the library. Remus would avoid being near her and Wilson. Whenever they were together, he felt as if he was intruding. Matthew did anything to only focus on her. Always very touchy especially since Sirius' birthday. Remus quickly noticed Ren had been avoiding him as well. She didn't want him and that was for the better. He had come to that conclusion shortly after the event had occurred.
"Sorry, I'm late!" She called, coming to a halt having run from Ravenclaw tower. Remus stood still, looking over her.
"S'alright." He muttered as they began to walk the corridor. Remus couldn't help but be frustrated.
"Is it?" She asked, concerned. They came to a sudden stop. She watched Remus wearily. He looked tired, his eyes sunken in and his skin near white. "Are you?" Did she do this to him? Renee was well aware of Remus' feelings towards her. James wouldn't shut up about it. Her brother thought they would fall in love. So, he talked to her about everything Remus had mentioned about her. He stated that the boy felt this for months. That scared Renee even more.
"Of course, he's not Potter. He's feeling a little under the moon." A snide voice sounded out from behind them. Severus Snape stood five feet away, his arms crossed. "But you wouldn't know about that, would you?" He stepped closer, hand twitching for his wand. Ren had never seen the Slytherin so angered over anything. Let alone Remus Lupin. He might be mad if she was walking with James or Sirius. Solely on the fact that he disliked them immensely. The girl had always thought he felt indifferent to the tall Gryffindor.
"Enough Snape, it's our night for patrolling, what are you doing out here?" Remus asked, pulling his wand from his pocket, and keeping it by his side. Remus could feel his breath quicken, chest tightening.
"Just out for a late-night stroll. Might want to distance yourself from him, Renee. Don't know when he could turn on you." Renee just looked between the two boys confused. She's never had a problem with Snape before. Of course, the boys have always had some sort of stupid feud. Seemed like a lot of energy to not like someone for five years.
"I think I'm okay, Severus, but you should head back to your dorm. Two hours passed curfew. I don't want to take points or give out detentions." She stated firmly, finally grounding herself.
"And leave you with this unfavourable git?" With a flick of his wand, Remus hexed the black-haired Slytherin. Within seconds, his tongue was turned into a sharp horn. His protests came out strained. Gargling on his saliva.
"Remus, go." She pushed away from him, running to Snape's side. She helped him to his feet. Quite repulsed by the whole interaction. Renee didn't know the spell Remus had used, so she couldn't know for sure if 'finite' would work. Snape reluctantly allowed her to pull his bicep through the halls.
"What happened?" Madam Pomfrey called out worriedly, getting a bed ready for Severus to take a seat upon.
"A hex," Renee stated quietly. Snape gave Madam Pomfrey a look and she gestured for the girl to leave. Once the girl arrived back at her dorm, her back hit the mattress. What is the Hippogriff's dung just happened?

Remus stood as he watched Renee enter the Great Hall the next morning. He paced toward her, which she noticed and stopped walking. "Ren, I'm sorry. I don't know why I did that. I know not to let Snape get to me. But I'm just not in the best area. I'm going to see my mum today."
"Remus, I hope your time with your mum is good. Hexing someone is not the way to do things. I expected better. And maybe apologize to Severus, not me." With that, she walked straight to Dorcas at the Hufflepuff table.
"She'll get over it, Moony." James patted him on the back. Remus didn't know if she would. She definitely wouldn't look at him the same.

"Don't worry about it love, he's in the wrong." Matthew shrugged off his robes, placing them on the ground to sit on. Renee was just about to follow the actions. However, as she turned away from the Black Lake, she spotted a crowd of students.
"Nice one James!" She heard Sirius call out faintly. The two looked at each other before Matthew jumped to his feet to follow the girl. She pushed through the crowd roughly. Almost knocking over a couple of first years.
"James Potter! You put him down, right now!" Lily Evans' voice rang out fiercely. Her wand pointed at him in defence. Renee's eyes landed upon Severus Snape, who was now suspended upside down ten feet in the air. James glanced at the redhead in conflict. The brunette's wand came out within seconds.
"Liberacorpus." The girls stated at the same time. Snape was lowered to the ground safely.
"You're lucky your girlfriend was here to save you." James said in disgust, looking at Renee before adding, "And my sister."
"Potter, Black, Lupin. You'll be coming with me to report to Professor McGonagall for detention." The younger twin stated a stoic expression on her face. Starting back to the castle. The boys follow behind her and Matthew. Remus didn't even want to look at her. He felt like shit, having done nothing to stop James.
Lily went to check on Snape after he finally got himself together. She fussed with his clothing. "I don't need help from a filthy Mudblood like you!" He yelled, throwing his hands in the air with frustration. The five stopped abruptly, turning around at the nasty word. Lily's face fell, arms wrapping around her torso. She pulled her robes closer.
"Right, remind me to never care for your wellbeing ever again," she paused, frowning, turning into a sneer, "Snivellus." With that Lily walked briskly towards the doorway.
"You'll let us off now, won't you Ren?" James asked with his wand back in his hand.
"Put that thing away James. I'm still taking you to McGonagall. Snape will pay for that another time." Renee's eyes darted over the three of the four Marauders. "I'll make sure of that."
