"You have no right! I trusted you with this!" Remus' voice echoed in the Hospital Wing. His eyes couldn't leave Sirius as he watched him step closer. Black reached a hand toward him, to calm him down. Lupin stared at his hand as if it were dripping with poison. "Don't come near me, don't talk to me." He inhaled roughly, wiping a tear that escaped his eye, "you and I are done." The taller boy pushed past James, exiting the room. Peter started to stand from the chair he was sitting in, but Renee stopped him.

"Renny, please..." The oldest boy begged, slumping back onto the bed he was assigned. He wanted to say more. But he knew that this was for the best. Now she was going to go comfort the person she wanted to be with. Even if she didn't admit to herself.

"You lads get some rest. I'll go talk to him." With that she followed his actions, giving James a quick kiss on the cheek.

"Shouldn't you be comforting your boyfriend?" He commented as she entered the dorm. The curtains to his four-poster are drawn.

"How'd you know it was me?"

"Wolf senses are still high." The fabric moved to the side, revealing a distraught Remus. Renny non-verbally asked to sit with him, which he accepted. They sat in silence for a good ten minutes before he sighed, "I just thought I could trust him."

"I know Rem." She opened her arms for him, he shuffled on the bed to lay in them. With his head on her chest, Remus started sobbing. Both her hands held his head, petting his hair. She just hoped this would help. Never being one to comfort someone with words. She thought about things to tell him. Thinking of how she and Sirius aren't in a relationship. About how she had dreams about being with Remus. But she knew that would either give him hope or make him more upset. So, she held him as he cried and as he fell asleep. She flicked her wand to close the curtains before drifting off as well.

"Renny, have you seen the Cloak?" James asked a few days later, entering the kitchen to see her whisking something in a bowl.

"Used to get Rem to the Hospital Wing. Thought you grabbed it from there." She whispered, trying to focus on the pancake batter. Renee Potter's specialty was breakfast foods. Which she thought was a little ironic considering most days she just had jam-covered toast.

"Yeah, Pete said you did. Just didn't know where it went." He plucked a chocolate chip from the mix, plopping into his mouth. The girl shrugged, pouring some batter onto a pan.

"I went back in the morning and it was gone."

"Dad's going to kill me..."

"Dad doesn't even remember he has it."

"Have you talked to Sirius?" James wondered, grabbing the pan from her hand, and expertly flipping the pancake with a swish.

"No, and I don't plan on it. Not until Remus forgives him. Which might be a while." His sister muttered, watching him steal the food. "Those are for Rem; I don't think he'll be too happy to hear that you ate all of his chocolate chip pancakes."

"I don't think he'll miss one or two lousy pancakes."

"Lousy?" Renee gripped the batter bowl before emptying it on his head. Her brother stared at her in shock. She took off running, a plate of pancakes in her hand. She ran to the library, James not too far behind.

"Potter, out." Madam Pince declared as soon as she laid eyes upon the boy.

"Which one? Ren's got food." He tattled, pointing at her in frustration.

"Both of you."

"Remus!" The Hufflepuff called, noticing him a couple of tables away. He hurriedly packed his things, muttering an apology to the librarian.

"Nice look James."

"Thanks." He moved with his wand, cleaning his upper body. "That's what we should do as a prank, pour batter on everyone's heads."

"That would be mean, Jamie." Renee declared, throwing him a smirk.

"Yeah Jamie, wouldn't want to hurt people's feelings." Remus agreed, making James throw his hands up in defeat.

"I'm going to find Peter. You guys are mean."

"Everything in your life so far has been useless, I have finally gathered all the ingred—"

"I'm telling Mum you said that."

"This is the hardest part of becoming an animagus, but as you are not snogging Padfoot, it might be a lot easier." He held out a mandrake leaf, "as you should know, this is a mandrake leaf. You must hold it in your mouth for a month. Full moon to full moon."

"Why didn't we start this last full moon?"

"I just got all the ingredients. As I said before." James gave her the leaf and she inspected it. "I believe this full moon cycle is twenty-nine days. If my calculations are correct, you can take it out on New Year's Eve."

"And then you make the potion and I drink it—then boom animal time." Her brother snorted at the simplicity.

"We put your leaf and a strand of hair in this vial and this dew..." He held up two containers, one of which was completely blacked out. "The dew can't be touched with sunlight. We leave that alone for seven days and add another ingredient. Then leave that alone in a quiet, dark place until an electrical storm—"

"Well, that's easy."

"—Every morning and night you have to say an incantation with your wand pointed at your chest. Then when the storm comes, we grab the vial, say the incantation and then you'll be an animagus." James hadn't noticed that the girl was paying no mind to what he was saying. She quickly placed the leaf in her mouth, pushing it to the top with her tongue. Then to the inside of her cheek. It felt a little better there.

"What if I lose it?" She slurred out.

"Then we'll have to start over again on the next full moon." He laughed at her expression.

"And talking?"

"We're leaving school soon, it'll be easy."

"And Mum?"

"Yeah, I have no idea. Don't let her find out." James patted his sister's shoulder, causing her to choke slightly on the leaf. "Sorry."
