"Master Kaeya! You have company!"

Kaeya lifted his head at the sound of his name, his starry gaze meeting the maid who called it. Then, his pupil fell, towards the little girl who was holding the maid's hand.

"(Y/N)," he exclaimed softly. "You're here again."

(Y/N) released the maid's hand, rushing up to Kaeya at the table. "Hello!" she greeted.

A small smile spread across Kaeya's lips. "Hello."

The maid soon left the pair to do their own thing. (Y/N) hastily climbed onto the wooden seat next to him, glancing at the sheet of paper he was writing on.

"What're you doing?" she questioned, tilting her head.

"Practising my writing," he answered.

(Y/N)'s eyes sparkled as she leant over the table to see the paper. "Wow, your writing is reeallly pretty! Dad always says my handwriting is ill-illi-illej... That he can't read it!"

Kaeya let out a small abashed laugh. "Thank you. I was taught by my–"

(Y/N) blinked when Kaeya suddenly fell silent. His head fell, making her unable to see his expression.

"Um, never mind," he murmured.

A small pout became of (Y/N)'s lips. Her eyes scanned around the winery in curiosity. "Where's Diluc? How come you're practising by yourself?"

"Diluc's training with Jean and Master Crepus. I'm not big enough yet."

"How old are you?"

"I'm seven."

(Y/N) beamed. "I'm seven too!"

Kaeya returned her smile, before continuing with his writing.

"What are Diluc and Jean training for? What does training mean? They shouldn't leave you to be lonely."

"I'm not lonely. The maids were helping me and talking to me before you came. Master Crepus said that next year I'll be able to train with Diluc and Jean. Diluc and Jean are bigger than me, that's why."

(Y/N)'s head tilted.

"Master Crepus and Jean's mother are really important people, so we have to learn lots of things, like sword fighting. That's what they're training."

(Y/N)'s eyes sparkled. "Sword fighting?! I wanna see!"

Kaeya placed his pen down, glancing around.

"Okay." He shuffled off his chair, before delicately taking (Y/N)'s hand into his. "Come with me."

A bout of giggles escaped (Y/N) when she leapt off the chair, following Kaeya to a corner of the winery. There was a small stairway, where at the bottom was a rounded door – just like a (not very) secret hideout for a child.

"And where do you two think you're going?"

(Y/N)'s shoulders jumped. Kaeya turned, his visible eye widening.

Before them stood one of the younger maids, her dirty blonde hair in a short bob, her arms folded with a mean look. Kaeya recalled that Diluc had told him that she was a new maid.

Kaeya simply smiled. "We wanna watch Diluc and Jean training. Please Adelinde!"

"Please Ad- Adl... Adlin!" (Y/N) attempted to repeat.

Adelinde's eyes narrowed, her lips pursing for a moment.

"You know you have to get permission to go down there," she sighed. "Come on."
